Itaru Maruya (丸谷 到 Maruya Itaru) is the older brother of Maruya Kaya and an alumnus of Shiratorizawa Academy. For most of the story, he was a college student in Tōkyō. He is currently the CEO of MSBY, the company that owns the V. League Division 1 team, MSBY Black Jackals.

Appearance

Itaru is a young man of average height with fair skin. He has strawberry blonde hair that is relatively straight with a few longer strands, and he has green eyes. He is known to be very handsome, which gains him a lot of attention from girls. He is quite fashionable, and he can normally be seen with a confident grin on his face. He looks a lot like his sister, Kaya.

Itaru is a charismatic person that excels in social situations. He likes to talk with many different types of people and can be a charmer, and he is good at getting people to like him. Background

As a child, Itaru spent a lot of time around his sister, Kaya. His father often traveled abroad for work, so it was mostly just him, his sister, and his mother. He and his sister were babysat by their neighbors when their mother was at work. They became close to the neighbor children that were around the same age as them. The neighbor kids liked to play volleyball, so Kaya and Itaru tried to play, too. While Itaru picked it up quickly and was naturally talented, Kaya was bad at it. When Itaru began playing volleyball competitively in junior high, she always attended his games. Itaru attended Shiratorizawa Academy on a scholarship, and he was a setter on the volleyball team. He was the starting setter by his second year. He gained a lot of media attention, and he was known as one of the best high school setters. His personal skills didn't stand out much compared to other setters, but he was an expert at reading opponents and directing his own teammates.

After graduating from high school, he left Miyagi to attend college in Tōkyō, pursuing a degree in business. He stopped playing volleyball to focus on his true goal: becoming a powerful figure in the business world. He graduated college in three years, then began working at MSBY. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the CEO by the time he was 25. He was regarded as a charismatic business genius whose ambition and resourceful took MSBY to new heights. While MSBY already owned the professional volleyball team, the Black Jackals, he was a huge advocate for keeping the team and even giving them more funding.
