1/22/17 - Half-asleep character. He popped into mind just freakin' screamin'. Possibly an eel? Has duller colors because he's typically more of a bottomfeeder type. Can stretch his fingers unnaturally far apart to spread the fins there. There isn't any webs connecting his index finger to his thumb, so he just keeps it tucked against his palm when swimming. Hair's super long cause it's never been cut in his life. The gem on his chest is replaced every time he makes a full energy cycle. Basically, he starts with x amount of energy and runs that down. Once he obtains more via eating, sleeping, or whatever, he'll eventually reach point x again. The gem will be pushed out by another, sort of like teeth coming in. Where this endless amount of diamond-shaped rocks comes from, nobody knows. After falling out, the stone will dim and crumble to shards in a day or two. Because of this, his home area is bedded in shimmering glass-like shards. Very rarely, the stone make come back the wrong color such as yellow and green or purple and red. After the next cycle, he should go back to normal. He's very curious about things (like the surface), but is also very skittish about anything he isn't familiar with. So much as a breath out of place will have him darting back to the depths. Very easy to scare and his first reaction will always be to scream pretty much as loud as he can. He also likes to pretend that this isn't because he's petrified, but that the shock gives him a few seconds he needs to escape.
