Valentyne Fyth

Viera of the Rava clan live primarily within the Golmore Jungle, an expansive spread of pristine verdure nestled in the southeastern corner of Dalmasca on the Nagxian border. These enigmatic leporine inhabitants act as self-proclaimed guardians of the wood, coexisting with the abundance of flora and fauna without the interference of man. Since the age of Ivalice, Viera follow a strict code called the 'Green Word' binding them to their land and prohibits any contact with the outside world unless necessary. As a result, the Viera consider Golmore to be sacred ground, they will not permit outsider to desecrate their domain.

It is noted that the Viera uphold a strictly matriarchal society, females are both adept hunters and protective over their homes and their young. Males stand as wards of the forest, ensuring that no evil creep up on their tribe's sacred lands, even going as far as to shun contact with their kin. The males must struggle to survive as they are expected to procure and craft their own clothing, weapons, medicines, and food without the aid of another - a tradition that has remained unchanged for generations.

Following the Empire's occupation of Dalmasca, a handful of imperial army units were ordered to brave into the depths of the jungle and round up the hares to bring them to Rabanastre. To the Viera, Golmore is sacred ground and they will not suffer to the desecration of their boundless domain by outsiders - especially for those foolish enough to dare hunt their lands. Only a few soldiers returned, though few Viera left with them on their own accord. Despite the Dalmascans attempts to subjugate the Viera, they have long maintained a self-governing dominion and are fiercely loyal to the traditions of the wood.

Much of Valentyne's infancy was spent in the Fyth village though she seldom know the buck whom sired her, memories of her mother are most prominent in her mind. Pher, chieftain of the village and mother of Valentyne, had taught her how to hunt and gather alongside other viera kittens from the village from a young age. In addition to this, the viera had a handful of siblings that she looked after including Yjrn, Chel, Yene, and Femmez. Naturally, as the eldest born, many expectations and responsibilities were thrust upon her as she was expected to take up the reigns once she came of age and nurture the forest.
