He grew up in a small town where everyone knew everything there was to know about everyone else. His father was a lawyer who made good money and his mother was a pillar of society in their town. He grew up in a moderate sized house and always had what he needed. He made it all the way through school with good grades and lots of friends. After school he started working at a restaurant owned by Mr. Love. This is when he met Mattie Love. They quickly fell for each other and started dating. At this point Mr. Love had seen great potential as a chef and a man in Mack and had taken him under his wing. Mattie's entire family was overjoyed that she was dating Mack. His family wasn't too keen though. Mack's parents had a future planned out for him with no input on what he wanted to do. This caused quite a rift between Mack and his parents especially because he realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Mattie which was met with utter outrage from his parents. He started going home less and less and started spending more time at the Love's house even spending some nights there. By now it was assumed by most of the town (wether it was their business or not) that Mack and Mattie were going to get married. The days dragged on and Mack felt more and more restless in the small town that seemed to keep getting smaller the longer he stayed there. This is when Richard McKnight walked into his life. While serving as a waiter at Mr.Love's restaurant Mack met Richard. They started a conversation about travelling and the west. They met later that night at a saloon and Richard told Mack about his train robberies and other outlaw antics. Richard could see that Mack was restless and unmotivated so he offered Mack to become his partner. Mack needed time to think about the offer which Richard understood so they arranged to meet at the same saloon two nights (weeks?) later. The time came around when they were to meet again and Mack had made up his mind. He would join Richard in his search for fortune and adventure. In the following days Mack resigned from his job at Mr.Love's restaurant and told the Love family that he was leaving to search for gold with Richard to earn a fortune to bring back. Before he left he told Mattie he would be back in three months and that he would write as often as he could. She was broken and scared for him but put on a brave face and kissed him goodbye and gave him her pendant as he rode off to his new life as an outlaw. Three months passed and letters became less and less frequent until they finally stopped. A few months later the complete Hellriders Gang was formed and the name of Hellrider became wide spread across the wild west.

During this time Mack never once forgot about his love back home. Once the gang disbanded Mack returned home to Mattie and they were married two months later. Two lovely children were to follow in the coming years. First a confident girl named Danielle after Mack's lost friend Dan Boyer. The second a shy and lionhearted boy Arthur named after another lost friend, Richard Arthur McKnight. With the money from his outlaw days Mack was able to buy his own restaurant and pay back Mr.Love, now his father-in-law, for all the kindness he showed Mack. This chapter of his life was the happiest Mack would ever be. He and Mattie lived well into their old age watching their children grow and experience life in it's hardships and joys. They passed away peacefully within a month of each other having achieved the greatest thing on earth, happiness and love.

Once the gang breaks up and everyone goes their separate ways, Mack goes back to his home town.  His girlfriend from before his outlaw days who he swore to return to lives there.  It was assumed by his girlfriend's family and the town that they were eventually going to get married.  When he returns home he finds that she has waited for him all those years and they are more inlve than ever.  They get married and Mack gets a job working for his father-in-law in a cafe.
