After moving from city to city, Trudy's family finally settled on Venus, Nebraska. The town is strange and full of monsters and people with weird powers; she fits right in. She first learned she could control bugs with her mind when she was 8, after unknowingly raising hundreds of worms from the ground to show her friend. Throughout her teenage years, Trudeau has mastered her powers, and keeps a swarm of different bugs around her at all times. She is trying to make friends in Venus, but is a bit too outgoing for anyone's taste. But, she finds solace in dressing up in her scene clothes, her various insect hotels, and her clunky old computer.
