very narcissistic however he cannot help but feel inferior to everybody around him. his cockroach clan had him cast out due to him being a liability, a runt and just outright acting extremely stubborn never wanting to be ordered around. frustrated, he sulks by himself and wanders the earth (which the earth is now inhabited by bug alien people from another planet. after the human population had been wiped out, bug aliens settled onto this new planet after their own planet had been obliterated foretold by a prophecy. these aliens fused with the earths insects in order to be able to easily adjust to the earths atmosphere therefore many of these alien's appearances take after the earth's insects. long story idk) a pivital moment in john's life was when he tried to show off to his clan by fighting off a centipede who's body was hijacked by a violent form of fungi. one of his wings were damaged leading him to no longer be able to fly. this hurt his confidence and dignity so much that it forever left a scar in his mind for the rest of his life.
john's anger, loneliness and frustration grew and grew until his body split violently into two beings (one is the original which has a black color to his body and the other is the embodiment of his negative feelings. his body is a deep blue in color.) before this incident, john could transform his body into this deep blue color whenever his emotions were at their height (kind of like super saiyans from dbz lol) but could never control it and harness its power. all of these alien bugs have the potential to do this but john is a rare and special case. he was so bad at controlling this ability that his body could not contain it, him being so small and weak compared to others while having such intense emotions. therefore, his body split into two completely different johns while also being one in the same.
john values his close relationships and treasures his friends deeply. so much so that it is often his undoing. for the most part, john is kind, reserved and considerate to the ones he cares much about. however, his fragile ego can lead to him being somewhat of a loudmouth. while he is considered shy, he wont shy away from having a sailor's mouth often shouting obscinities whenever hurt or offended. his species of cockroach tend to have this trait of feeling inferior so john wont take being insulted too lightly.
