Solitude is an aged and cranky Skull Wolf. With a general dislike of others, he prefers to live in solitude (hence the name).

A naturally thin frame coupled with a low appetite keeps Solitude looking scrawny and sickly. His appearance is similar to that of a wolf with mange and looks very gaunt in his age. The less-than-attractive yellow hue of his mane and tail also tends to get passer-bys to avert their eyes.

Unlike Cranis, Solitude does not flaunt his abilities. He prefers to steer clear at most times and attack with little fanfare, though he does feel inclined to mutually circle an opponent if the initial ambush doesn't finish it up. His strikes are fast and varied. When he judges the target to be of little trouble he will abandon his usual hit-and-flee and repeat tactic in favour of a hit-and-hold. He is maneuverable even like this and will still try to avoid being hit but can nevertheless withstand pain without complaint.

Most of Solitude's life was spent wandering aimlessly across the land and regularly indulging in his natural urges to kill. After he met Cranis who insisted on following him despite his attempts to ditch the pup, Solitude sought to teach the young man in his ways. Soon he found that Cranis disliked the travel and so Solitude gave up his far reaching escapades for a more centralized path. Now he functions as Cranis' guardian and mentor, finding peace in the idea that he could pass a bit of himself onto a younger generation. With this his violent habits were somewhat tempered but he remains irritable even around Cranis and prefers to allow Cranis to suffer through his mistakes in order to learn (ex: if Cranis messes with a porcupine Solitude will feel no need to help him pull out the quills).
