why did it have to be me?
Design notes
- Large scars go across the left side of his face. They are deep, and part of it cuts through his lip, so you can see a bit of teeth and gums.
- White, messy, wavy hair.He usually doesn't even try to style it.
- Wears a lot of long sleeves and sweaters. He runs cold, so he gets cold easily.
- usually wears a plain black face mask to cover the deep scars across the bottom of his face. they never healed correctly and often make people stare, and he doesn't want people to stare.
As far as everybody knows, his name is Blanc Debroux. And that is what he needs everyone to think. Although he seems mysterious, there are no outsiders in Cordova, not really.
Blanc is rather short, standing at only 5’5” (165 cm, but he doesn’t let that get to him). He is slender, generally soft and definitely not very muscular at all. He has short, wavy, stark white hair that, despite his best efforts, is usually a bit messy. It’s usually parted to the side and goes just a little below his ears. His ears have 3 piercings each, one lobe and two cartilage, all black metal.
His eyes are a striking blue-violet, heavily lidded with long eyelashes. He tends to avoid eye contact. Right below his left eye is a small beauty mark. Along the left side of his face run two deep scars. One cuts straight through his lip, from chin to right below his eye, deep enough to show a bit of teeth and gums, while the other is smaller, but just as deep, just to the left of it. He usually wears a plain black face mask to cover them, as he really dislikes how they look.
Blanc is nothing if not adaptable. He does seem to have a cold exterior, and keeps his true feelings under wraps most of the time. He will appear indifferent or bored most of the time, half lidded eyes and a frown. At first glance, he is simply cold and aloof - very closed off.
You don’t need to know where he came from. He arrived by train, as most newcomers do, and within a month found himself in deep trouble. Let’s hope he can make it out alive.

Danger.Blanc can freeze surfaces (to an extent), lower temperatures through touch, and even conjure sharp shards of ice to attack or defend (defend to a lesser extent - ice is not very strong). As a result of his powers, he has a lowered body temperature and is always cold to the touch. He is skilled with these powers, but he will avoid using them if he has the option. Overexertion has, on certain occasions, led to serious frostbite.

this is gonna be a TLDR of his backstory because I have yet to write it out properly but here we go:
Here's a little secret: Blanc isn't his real name. It's so on the nose it's almost silly. His real name is Luc Dumais. He was born a normal little boy, to two loving parents in a college city near Quebec. His parents were researchers/professors at the university, both studying magic (WIP)
TLDR: He used to be Luc, his parents were killed and his death was faked by a colleague of his parents. This colleague then took Luc and proceeded to raise him/study him, due to his unusually strong magic abilities (unethical science). He was raised there, but at 17, escaped the institution where he lived (was being held), killing this "adoptive father" in the process. He hasn't stopped running since, fearing that they're looking for him (they are). He eventually ends up in Cordova, with no plans to stay for long. Clearly this changes somewhere along the way.
- wary and flighty, doesn't trust easily. sarcastic and witty, kind of a bitch. it's a defense mechanism. Clearly.
- always kind of on the run, ever since he was 17. he won't tell anyone what or who he is running from
- pickpocket and habitual thief. did it to survive at first and now it's just a habit. he's really good at it though
- he doesn't use his powers often, and when he does they're often weaker than he has the capacity for. he does run cold as a result of this though.
- he is unable to use his magic to the best of his ability. there is kind of a mental block. he has to work through some stuff....
