Ashley Hale is a woman in her late 30s who works as the colonel from the BSAA in the United States alongside Chris Redfield, she's French and has served since 1999 for the European state of the BSAA after the bioterrorist war from France that ended back in 2003. After Chris Redfield recruited her to serve him as one of his right hands when working; to later turn her into the colonel of the BSAA from Washington DC. She's a very experimented soldier, she may look a little bit young but she has the audacity and the intelligence to deal with her job, alongside the experience.
She's married to the famous DSO agent Leon Kennedy, they both met when Leon went to the BSAA back in the earlier of 2008 since they had a mission together, after a year and a half of getting to know each other and both helping each with their affairs and traumas, they both fell for each other; which ended up in a year later after being together in both getting married when Ashley was 28 and Leon 34. Many events happened before being together; him helping Ashley with almost dying from committing suicide, her helping Leon with his alcohol obsession, his and her PTSD, etc.), They both have 4 years later their first daughter, Primrose Elizabeth Kennedy, being born on December 25th, as their Christmas gift and miracle after Ashley was told she was infertile from being infected with the Las Plagas and a prototype of the A virus which caused her health to decrease and become worse, her becoming weaker and making her infertile (ALMOST), but this all caused her to have very difficult pregnancies. Them being very dangerous for her body to handle. While she was pregnant Leon took care of her to the point of even retiring from the DSO for a few months to take care of his fragile wife, even if Prim ended up being born very healthy, Ashley was left weak, and with Leon helping her the first weeks after postpartum to get better. 5 years later they ended up being parents again to their first and only son Noah, and after 5 years from Noah, they have their 3rd and last daughter: Ashley Jr.
