Divine entity named Parilis, he was born from the prayers of people. They are many of his kind, their mission is to roam the earth and help regulate the climate. The Parilis answer the prayers of the devout mortals and send lighting on the impious. 5000 years ago, you could see them in the crops, in the sky, traveling through the clouds bringing rain or sun. But today, most people stopped working the land and with the progresses of science, realised that praying for a good weather is useless. Besides, climate change weakened their powers, making them almost useless and forgotten in most of the regions of the globe. Most of the Parilis left the Earth the same Day. That Day when Andrei woke up, he was all alone. All the Gods were gone, They left him behind. He had to live on his own, learning to blend with modern human society and being the last of his kind.
Humans. Filthy little creatures.
He doesn’t like them. Seeing them from above is good enough, but he has to go down there, to be part of their meaningless act. Covered in mud, humans spend their time digging earth, piling rocks, running in circles, without ever stopping.
They build fences, trap the land, the animals and say “mine”. They scream to each other, they fight each other, they kill each other. One day, he even saw one eat another.
Being seen, he isn’t allowed. He has to hide or to run. The little ones are nice, they pet him, right behind the ear where he likes it. The big ones try to catch him, throw knife or rope, point their “bang” cylinders at him.
Really, he isn’t their God or anything. Humans created him, he is just forced to comply.
Andrei doesn’t want to help them and does a terrible job at being a Weather God (assistant). Arguing back when his master gives him tasks, he tries to do the bare minimum just to have some peace. He spends his time sleeping in sunny places, when he’s not busy hassling his fellow companions to convince them to take some time off with him. He likes traveling through the sky and exploring the Earth with them. They have access to unknown places that are just waiting to be discovered. He is a friendly fellow to be around, always having something funny to tell or suggesting the craziest activities. Even if they are dangerous. Mostly they are dangerous. He surrounds himself all the time, with superficial relationships. Being alone bores him, loneliness scares him.
BEFORE
Russia. That’s where his Master told him to come down. It was huge there, pretty quiet in some places, a lot of crops and many prayers. First, he tried his best at answering them. But century after century there were more and more humans, crops and prayers. Doing the same tasks over and over again was boring. Seeing the same Parilis over and over again was boring. He wanted to travel, meet some new ones, and do something else for a change. Quickly, he runned into trouble for ignoring prayers, forgetting to send rain or sun. Worse, he involved other Parilis, aggravating the overall performance. Then, he saw the humans change, the cities growing up, the air rotting. And then They left.
AFTER
When Andrei woke up, he was all alone. All the Gods were gone. He waited for them for decades. He searched his Master again and again. But the harsh truth was that he couldn't live and couldn't die. Starving, bored, suffering from cold and warm, he got bored to wait. He had to live on his own, learning to blend with modern human society. It went to North America, targeting populated cities. He loathed being with humans but even more, he loathed being alone. The crowd, the noise, the blinding lights were comforting. The alcohol and the drugs too. Humans did have some fun things after all. That’s when he met Lazar a blind, ex-tattoo artist. Lazar didn’t believe a word of Andrei's story, but agreed to tattoo his Master on the forearm and a snake to keep him company. Lazar his nice, but he will die in a few decades, so no need to become to attached.
- Andrei can merge with clouds and travel through them.
- Due to his strong bond with the weather, his fur changes color. When it's sunny he is white, when it's stormy he becomes black.
- It also goes the other way : when he's sad, it rains, when he's happy it can become sunny. when he's angry, he can create a storm on a small area. In his human form, his hairs and eyes change color as well.
- He has a form where his head is detached from his body and floats above his shoulders. It can be up to three floaty heads. This doesn't make him more powerful of whatever, he just uses it to intimidate, a bit like a cat ruffle its hair on its back.
- He became used to his new life but when impersonating humans, he behaves a bit like a dog. Like he bites people instead of punching them and he smells them sometimes.
- He loves tacky neckties.... but doesn't know how to tie them.
- Tattoos help him remember things. Cloud tattoo for the god is has to find, snake tattoo to gives him a long term friend. When you lived 5000 years, memory becomes blurry, you forget people after they die and 10 years are an instant.
- Absolutely loves sugar. His favorite treat is jerky.
