Personality

A gentle and emotional witch who can be somewhat of an easily embarrassed klutz. Tends to be honest even if she might regret it later. Family is important to her and she enjoys taking care of those close to her.

Background

Born in a small town in the South, her parents were regular humans who ran a simple apothecary shop. Her older brother and younger sister were both human as well. It wasn't until she was 7 years old that she realized she was a witch. At night, she had vague visions in her dreams that would happen within the next few days. There wasn't anyone to teach her how to use her magic properly since she was in a remote town without many magic-users around. Her parents were generally supportive yet concerned at the same time due to her lack of training. She was excited discovering that she could use magic and wanted to help others despite being a bit clumsy with it. The random visions would bother her from time to time, though she kept quiet about them to not attract too much attention. Luckily for her, by the time she was 15, a traveling wizard taught her some basics and gifted her a tarot deck to help with channeling her visions into fortune telling.

Growing up, she didn't consider herself too different from humans and got along with them fairly well. However, as time continued on, the sight of her siblings becoming older while she hardly changed was a shock to her. She slowly began to feel a gap between wizards/witches and humans, but she carefully watched over her siblings' families as a sort of distant fairy godmother figure.

To make a living, she eventually she took over her parents' apothecary shop as well as told fortunes on the side. There wasn't any motivation for her to go out and explore the world, so she remained in her hometown for over 150 years. One day, a wizard from the West named Fynnr suddenly approached her and confessed that he fell for her at first sight. She wasn't used to such direct romantic advances, which made her not trust him completely. Even though she attempted to avoid him, he was persistent in courting her over the following days. She thought she could get him to leave her alone by telling him she could only love someone who made a promise with her. To her surprise, he did just that, promising to love only her. In the spur of the moment, she sort of unintentionally promised him the same thing back due to how abrupt it was. It ended up working out for them at least; the two got along well after their rushed, bumpy start.

It didn't take long for Fynnr to invite her to live with him in the West. About 150 years of happiness together later, he suddenly disappears one day. She knew he was out to collect materials for his research, yet it was the first time he never returned home. Although she strongly believed he had to be out there somewhere, there weren't any signs of him and others weren't as hopeful as her. After a year of waiting at their home, she decided to become a traveling fortune teller. She reasoned she could explore the world and use her fortune telling to help people, either by reassuring them with her predictions or giving advice. Her promise to Fynnr remains currently remains, which she intends to keep that way.

However, a few years into traveling on her own, she happened to see someone who resembled her missing husband. She called out to him without thinking, even rushing up to him to grab his arm when he didn't respond. The man just gave her a cold look and told her that wasn't his name. Before he could say anything else, she apologized and ran away in confusion. Eventually their paths crossed again, and she learned that his name is Velis, an ancient Northern wizard whose soul is now possessing Fynnr's body. Being around Velis makes her feel conflicted -- part of her is uncomfortable seeing someone who looks like her husband but isn't, while another part of her wants to take care of him. Velis also seems interested in her, so now she has to deal with him randomly visiting her as well.
