Sylvia is a charming young librarian employed at Miskatonic University in Arkham, Massachusetts. 

While not particularly wealthy, Sylvia is led by her heart first and foremost. She has a trend of becoming besotted with unobtainable people in her life and is quite good at her way into their lives. She is currently infatuated with the head librarian, an older man named Dr. Henry Armitage, and has become his unofficial assistant. 

She is well-read and adept at book-binding and mending, though not very quick-witted or intuitive. Her favourite topics to read about are history and fantasy, and has accidentally read a fair bit about the occult as a result.
