► SPECIES RULES ◄

Follow the trait guides described here, rare/uncommon traits are still allowed as this is an open species, just please make sure your grubs are following the anatomy stuff correctly.

Design checking with the owener, Wicke, are more than welcomed. Feel free to message Wicke on TH or Discord for design checks.

Using forbidden traits is mainly more upsetting to the species owner than like a terrible offense. Hybrids are allowed if you wish to have a hybrid grubgrout, but please check in with Wicke first. Humans can't have wings despite how awesome it would be, and like those limitations on traits, grubgrouts naturally cannot have certain traits as well without being a hybrid of different species.

► FEATURES ◄

Basic Features► Pointed Snouts

► Thick dark colored lips and a long rough tongue. Their top and/or bottom canines often protrude from their mouth, but that isn't always the case.

► Long ears with small fur tufts at the tips. The inside of their ears are fleshy and ridged like a bat. Fur tufts are common, but occasionally a grubgrout without tufts on the ears is born. It's a recessive gene to be born without tufts.

► Large fur tuft around their neck

► Commonly come in dull and dark colors, but lighter and vibrant colors are possible, its just more rare.

► Long snout that slopes downwards with a bunny styled nose

► Lanky body and boney features, can be especially seen with their jawline and rib cage

► 4 long fingers and 1 thumb with long claws, they have paw pads on both their hands and feet. Grubgrouts have digitigrade legs with werewolf styled feet and thick claws. Both the claws on their hands and feet are unable to retract

► Long curly tail. It can be pointed or rounded at the end and is prehensile, which means it can uncoil and be used to grab things.

They can only have the hands and feet shown

► Rounded Snouts ◄

Must be pointed, grubgrouts have pointed snout shapes only, similarly to a wolf snout for example.

► Aquatic Features ◄

They are not an Aquatic species and cannot have gills, scales, or breathe underwater. They can, however, have webbed features such as between their hands and feet, this kind of webbing is closer to that of a bat than a frog though.

► Plantigrade Legs ◄

Humans have this type of leg, where the ball of the foot and the heel touch the ground, or like a bear who has flat footed paws. Grubgrouts are digitigrade, like a cat or dog, only!

► Wings ◄

They are allowed but can only be small and non-functional (can’t fly), however a rare few are big enough to allow limited gliding.

► BASIC INFO/FACTS ◄

► In canon they are anthro, but they posssss an ability that makes it so they can run on all fours as well. Shifting between these postures is easy due to their anatomy structure, and grubgrouts running on all fours can go faster than one running on 2 legs.

► There is a very rare gene for Grubgrouts that makes them hairless and wrinkly like a sphynx cat! These types of Grubgrouts are treated like royals and being in their presence is said to give good luck. That’s why in the higher up businesses they are more commonly seen. Similar situation occurs with Grubgrouts that have lots of luxurious and soft fur as well. Rare traits are praised in Grubgrout society rather than seen as birth defects, save for a select few abnormalities.

► REPRODUCTION ◄

There are males and females and they reproduce sexually. Males are often bigger than females, and females can have breasts on their chest like a human, not always though, as well as curvier anatomy.

A female Grubgrout can give birth to up to 2 babies at a time. They are surprisingly small and have their eyes closed. A Grubgrout’s fur doesn’t start coming in until they’re about 2 and half months old. They give live birth and don't lay eggs.

► LIFE SPAN ◄

They can live up to an average of about 85 years,  as they age similarly to humans

► DIET ◄

Omnivorous

They cook up food like humans do, also go to grocery stores but they may also scavenge alongside streets and sometimes in nearby forests; especially for insects and grubs as garnish or an appetizer. They use manmade tools as well but their long fingers and tongues are for dishing out insects

► BEHAVIOR ◄

They’re often easily irritable due to primal urges for dominance left behind by their ancestors, such behavior is normalized in grubgrout society as it rarely gets physically violent, excluding shoving that is. Other species may have issues understanding this and get startled by the aggressive behavior, however Kaprikobrahs are very adept to sensing emotions of those around them, and aren't bothered by random outburst that come with slight inconveniences their grubgrout friends have.

► LOCATION ◄

Primarily found in highly populated/modernized locations like cities and suburbs, however some grubgrouts like to travel or prefer to live surrounded by nature so they can be found almost anywhere on Pyntura.

► HEIGHT & WEIGHT ◄

Adult Grubgrouts can range from 5’7” - 6’3” and while weight can vary, they average at around 145 lbs

► LORE ◄

They come from the planet of Pyntura, and are mostly found in the grubgrout established country of Maldua. Maldua is a country thriving with all sorts of life, and many flora/fauna species have been unaffected by industrialization and foundation of cities as technology progressed.

Grubgrouts live alongside other intelligent species, such as the Kaprikobrahs and the Tapeti's. There are no issues with racism, war, or homophobia on Pyntura due to the incredible variety of species making it impossible for such social concepts to even exist. Disputes are handled peacefully for the most part, and the legal systems across the planet work mostly the same with fundamentals in common sense being relied on.
