"Hm..." *silent brooding intensifies*

Career/Occupation: After having been on disability for the past seven years, Anthony is getting back into the workforce one step at a time. For now, he is running a mechanic business out of his garage, where he tunes up cars, motorcycles, and even go-karts for a reasonable fee. While he never got to finish college, he had planned on graduating with a degree in Health & Wellness studies on his football scholarship.

Personality: Upon first brush, it would seem as though Anthony has as much personality as a brick wall. He is a man of few words, and those words are often as pared down and gruff as he can make them. People are surprised upon finding out Anthony’s age, as he carries himself as though he were an ornery old man and not a fellow in his early thirties. Upon second brush, it becomes more apparent that while Anthony is quiet, he has a lot to say, mostly bits and pieces of wisdom fashioned into quirky little one-liners or anecdotal stories. He’s not silent and brooding because he’s anti-social, he just...can't realize that he comes off as silent and brooding. Though he takes some warming up, Anthony is a hard-working, hard-thinking man who wants to extend a firm, helping hand to his community. While some of his ideas and hobbies may be a little...plain, he is always more than happy to share with the people around him if they care enough to listen. It takes about five minutes of talking to Anthony to discern that he has an intense soft spot for nostalgia. In fact, he might talk about the past a tiny bit too much. Anthony may be a tad insecure and grumpy, but underneath that moody layer lies a kind, generous man who wants to fix his friends’ problems. It’s just a matter of gaining the confidence to do so. 

Appearance: Anthony is an absolute unit of a man, coming in at 6’4 with enough body mass to put a horse in a headlock. His facial structure is handsome and broad, and he is very Marlon Brando-esque in his features, with thick eyebrows and a crooked nose. His posture is strong and straight, often locking his grey eyes straight ahead of him as he walks. His stride is affected by a limp in his left leg, but he lumbers about slowly enough to disguise it. His hairline is slowly beginning to recede, and his thick, wavy locks of black hair are starting to grey. His meticulously trimmed and manicured beard is starting to salt-and-pepper, too, much to his dismay. Even the thick hair on his forearms are losing their luster. Anthony is subtly fashion-conscious, preferring to tuck his plain tees and button-ups into his blue jeans or his brown slacks, possibly pairing it with an ornate leather belt. His wardrobe is practical and predictable. Tees in the spring, tanks in the summer, jacket in the fall, rinse and repeat. However, he always wears his shirts a little too tight, his chest muscles and biceps often stretch out the elastic in his clothes. Anthony seldom looks in the mirror, nor does he purchase expensive clothes, as he is embarrassed by vanity of any kind. 

Sexuality/Love life: Anthony is a victim of his own negative self-talk, which is the main reason why he hasn’t been on a date since his senior prom. After the accident that put him on disability, and consequently uprooted his life plans, Anthony began to develop crippling body dysmorphia. His injury and the consequential chronic pain riddled him with self-doubt and a brief bout with pain-pill addiction exterminated whatever confidence he had left. As his once-thriving health declined and his hair began to grey, Anthony became depressed, believing he was now only half the dapper man he was in high school. He is lonely, so he often can be seen frequenting the bar on most weeknights. Half for the scotch on rocks, but half for the hope that maybe a beautiful man or woman would sit beside him and ask about his day. While he believes just about any other man would make a better suitor than he would, Anthony still searches for someone bright and gentle to care for.  

Family: The only son to his widowed mother Eleonora, Anthony’s relationship with his family is strained. The family began to falter after Anthony’s father passed away years ago, and only began to crumble more so under the stress of Anthony’s accident and subsequent addiction. Both his mother and his younger sister, Naomi moved out to their mother’s home city of Siena where Naomi now studies pre-law. He has not seen either of them in almost four years. While he was battling the heat of his pill addiction, Anthony lost his grandmother Nona. Nona, who had always favored Anthony, left him her house under the condition that he would maintain her garden and her porcelain angel collection after her passing. Anthony still keeps up this bargain as he lives in his late grandmother’s home. He finds the maintenance comforting, despite being ravaged by guilt for mistreating his family during his darker times. Anthony chooses to leave his mother and sister alone, rather than step back into their lives and mess it all up again.
