Mania was born on the high seas near the Russian border in 1220, she was born in a cabin on a boat that was used as a Viking ship and grew up on that same boat that her parents ran. It is said that she has a special place in her heart for the cold hearted sea, and it’s true. She feels most at home when on the sea, she owns her own ship named Mossy, Mania is suspicious of others that she meets and for good reason. She has been crossed one too many times in the past, so she is slow to trusting others. Though she has suspicion towards others, she does take on the quests that she accepts. Generally the mayors of the small villages she frequents, but with all these things nothing comes free in the world.
She is loyal to her friends and those who follow her, and often times have taken a sword for someone she cares about. Some of those people have turned around and abandoned her after she saved them, her harsh attitude and shrewd ways are a self-preserving mechanism to protect herself emotionally. Though in the end it always makes her lonely, recently she has joined a band called the 3 felines and has been working as a bartender for the last year so she can keep in close contact with her two band mates Malachai and Meeko.
History Repeats Itself
"Captain, the ship is going to sink, you have to get out of here!" Rory yelled through the howling wind, though his call fell on deaf ears as the large brown boat rocked. The creaking and groaning sounds it made where simply haunting, waves splashed over the boat with a salty vengeance as rain poured from the once clear sky. "Man the boat Syris!" A woman yelled, she looked to be nine months pregnant. A flush crossed her face as she handed the wheel over to her eldest son, the strong looking man standing next to her looked at her gently without saying a word. Everyone was worried about what was happening since their captain was pregnant, you might think they would scoff at a woman being a captain in her time but she was a viking and women were thought of as equals to the men. At least her clan thought so, finally she slipped and fell down the deck stairs as water washed over her. She sputtered at that, grabbing hold of a rope nearby she hoisted herself onto the upper deck and into the cabin where she lay on the bed. Screams filled the cabin, and then the sound of something else cried.
Cheers erupted on the deck, though falling on deaf ears. Once the child quieted an odd phenominon happened and the ocean settled with the sky clearing, people rejoiced that the captain had a strong daughter just like herself. Though her own patterns were much different than her mother's own, she was considered the princess of the sea. Years passed and she was romping a town that they had docked on, her mother leaving her behind saying she was going to go do something. Months passed by and her mother had not returned. Though a large boat with the letters MOSSY written on it appeared one day with a man handing Mania a letter, her mothers last wishes were on that note. She did not want Mania to follow in her footsteps, she did not want history to repeat itself again.
