Stella

Stella was one of the earlier experiments with the Cortex Vortex. Sometime after Ripper Roo was subjected to the Cortex Vortex, Stella was put into it. However, halfway through the procedure, she freaked out and escaped the Cortex Vortex and fled Cortex Castle, disappearing into the jungles of N. Sanity island. Dr. Cortex didn’t go after her, finding her to be not worth his time, as he could always make more mutants. As a result of the procedure, Stella doesn’t remember Dr. Cortex or anyone else she met before she was put through that (N. Brio and Ripper Roo), but she’d remember if given a good enough reminder. Also, if she were to remember who Dr. Cortex was, she would feel she has to be loyal to him as an effect of the Cortex Vortex. Before the experiment, as an evolved mutant by Dr. Brio she was sweet and smart with a good heart, but now she’s a nervous wreck who compulsively steals anything she can get her hands on. Her main goals are to steal and survive, the main rule being that the need to steal will always triumph her conscience when it comes to situations.

She sticks around with Rhode, having found solidarity in their mangling by the hands of Dr. Cortex. Rhode is one of the few people Stella trusts, and she'll often be found in one of Rhode's many cave hideouts.
