Profile

PERSONALITY
Bulwark is a relatively simple minded creature, and his behaviour and personality could be compared to that of a big doofy dog.
He enjoys his new life aboard the space port with Draft, and looks up to her with utmost adoration.
He’s very wary of strangers, and it takes a lot of encouragement from Draft to get him to go near people. He’s very sweet once he opens up to you, and loves a good pat on the head.

DESCRIPTION
Despite the sweet personality, Bulwark has an incredibly intimidating figure. He’s quite large, and his dragon-like appearance often startles people who haven’t seen him before.
His wings are made out of a very thin glass, and are non-functional, he unfolds them only if he feels threatened.
He has nothing that represents proper eyes, but the large green dome on his head acts as his eye.
He has the number 5 painted on both his shoulders. This was his number in the races he once participated in.

BACKSTORY
One day, a ship carrying garbage from another planet came in to dock at the space port Draft works at. When she was put in charge of moving the large crate full of trash to the port’s inferno to burn, she opted to check it for anything recyclable that may be of use. (lacking in smell sensors, she knew she would be the only one willing to do such a task)
It was here, in the pile of trash, that she discovered Bulwark. The creature was an absolute mess- one of its back legs was severely crumpled, the glass that covered its face was shattered, as well as its wings and it was barely functional. It only managed a small grumble and a slight bit of movement when it was discovered, and it seemed to have already accepted its fate.
Draft, shocked by this discovery, quickly moved to get the creature out of the pile of trash, which wasn’t too difficult with him barely able to move. Once in a clear area, Draft didn’t think twice about setting to work to repair the creature. It seemed to have its pain sensors disabled, luckily, so she was able to perform some serious operation to repair it. Once finished on the repairs, she put the creature into a sort of ‘sleep-mode’, so its internal operating systems had time to refresh. During this time she made sure to contact her superiors, and review their policy on employees being allowed to keep things that were sent to the inferno. Lucky for her, this policy still stood, so she was able officially write up this creature as her property, just so she could make sure it was alright for the time being.
After coming clean, and letting others know of her discovery, she tried her best to find out where the creature had come from. It seems the ship had come from a distant planet known best as ‘the sports capital of the solar system’, and it would appear that Bulwark was once a top contender in their races. The people of that planet were not very athletic themselves, so they built robots to represent their planet in the events they hosted, which are open to any and all in the galaxy to contend in. Bulwark, though still a very good athlete, was one of the oldest models still in use, so when he succumbed to a leg injury during a race they simply opted to trash him, rather than bother to ship in new parts.

ONGOING STORY
Since his rescue, Bulwark has come to trust Draft completely, and acts almost like a pet dog. He follows her around silently, and will refrain from going near strangers. Though he cannot speak, he seems to understand English quite well, and happily follows commands from Draft. He often helps her with the heavy labour on the space port. Though Draft doesn’t like to give him orders, giving him a job was the only way she could convince her superiors to let her keep him.
Bulwark has no memory of his life before Draft’s rescuing him. She isn’t sure if his memory drives were actually deleted when he was damaged, or if he just chooses to repress it.
