Luciana Chronis

The eldest child of the Chronis family inherits the potential to use time magic. When the current Chronis was discovered to be pregnant with twins, there was no way to determine which was the "eldest", so both were raised with restrictive rules and schedules to instill the skills needed to be a proper heir. When Romeo, the second to actually be born, showed his potential, Luciana was all but abandoned by her parents, and allowed to do whatever she pleased. Thinking this was a punishment, she set out to become a better mage than Romeo to win back their attention.

Once she moved on to college, Luciana discovered that her overall talent was just average, which shocked her to her core. Still, she kept working, and managed to find a field she enjoyed and friends with similar aspirations. At 19, she even got her first girlfriend; however, they weren't very compatible, and broke up after just a few months. The rebound pushed her into the arms of an abusive man who manipulated her for years and sending her mental health spiraling downward. She flunked out of college, which sent him into a rage; fearing for her life, she ran away and ended up living with a former teacher's aide. He let her stay above his shop and recover; once she was in good enough condition to live on her own again, he offered to call in a favor and get her a cheap place to live in his home city.

Luciana is that sort of person who's so easy to read, you'd almost think she's hiding something. Mousy and a born worrywart, there's no need to guess if something's bothering her; she'll already be telegraphing it with a sullen expression. Even when trying to keep a stiff upper lip, she's simply unable to hide her emotions. Mercifully, this is accompanied with a mostly even temper; while she's clearly pessimistic, it takes a good deal of stress to make her panic, and it's very rare for her to get angry. When she does, it's a flash in the pan; she'll burst, but calm back down so quickly that it's almost like it never happened in the first place.
