About

Aleta is a short gal who you will almost never see as a human! She has the ability to shapeshift into animals, but only the animal she has come into contact with. The girl is a bright spirit who tries to keep her head high and moving. She can, however, get lost in thought when it comes to biology science. She may act naive but she is more aware than one might think.

Aleta is a free spirit. She tends to do whatever she pleases but all the while still being as human and a good samaritan as possible. After all, we all have our bad days, why not try to make it better if it doesn't take much out of her time? She wants to believe in the greater good. After being brought up in a lab, doing multiple tests and having different DNA pumped into your system? There's gotta be some kind of kindness than the 14 years of sleek white walls and clear windows and cold metal tables. She's been a nomad since her escape, living comfortably on the streets as she learned she could shift into any animal she chooses so long as she's already made contact with the animal. From what she's learned -she was a baby that was given to the labs. Whoever took care of her, she doesn't want to know nor go back to them.

Appearance

Aleta is about 5'6" and favors wearing her green tank, shorts, thigh-high socks and short boots. She also seems to wear these silver bands that jut out at her shoulders, wrists and ankles (if you get to see them). But that's just something that is part of her being already. She prefers to wear her hair as twin braids and has pointed ears. But more often than not, you will find her in one of her animalistic forms.

Backstory

In Aleta's earlier memories, she was part of a big family, but was not allowed to go outside. They would have in-door parks for her, gave her great meals -though sometimes repetitive,- and always taught her new things every day. It was such an easy, comfortable life, albeit a lonely one. Nonetheless, she was happy to live her life... despite having injections every day. But she got used to it.

It was one faithful day where she wa brought to a new room. A room with many syringes and tables and fancy robots... and this one chair with some straps... As soon as she had asked to leave, the people she trusted, pinned her down to the chair, equipped her with some mechanics to her head and had restrained her for basic diagnostics. Despite her struggle, she could not overpower them. That is, until that final injection.

Her pupils would dilate. She would thrash and twist. All until she managed to get free and bash the lead scientist with her skull. Injuring the woman, Aleta was immediately tranquilized... Next thing she knew she has some odd hard substance attached to her. Molded onto her. And she couldn't remove it.

Aleta was then moved to the sub levels, locations she was never ever aware of, in which she had befriended one of the newer scientists and other lab experiments. Given time and patiends, Aleta soon learned what she was capable of now. Why the injections were given to her. Why they had brought her down here...

They were making serum for humans to have super abilities. And what she had been tested of? to inherit these abilites, that of animals, without changing shape, like her fellow lab rats have. It wasn't long before the truth was out, as by touching the DNA of an animal would grant her the ability to shift shape into that animal. And the only instance to trigger that was by fight or flight, and flight she took from an experiment being tested with crow genetics.

Tranq'ed and restrained once again, they had to come up with a plan to have her escape. Else she would die, being extracted for her own DNA for the next experiment as she was proven a failure.

After secretive training between the newbie and the experiments, Aleta was able to preform her escape as a fly on the wall... literally. Even with the security on her tail, trying to catch a tiny fly, Aleta escaped the laboratory and saw the world for the first time.

Of course, she wasn't sure what to do with herself then. She was free, but how would she live? Would she have to always be on the run? How would she eat? Where would she sleep?? ...Her answers were given by a single familiar smell.. and after trailing behind his car, she flew into the open window of his apartment and.. well they became roommates.

Mark obviously didn't want to return the poor girl to the awful labs. Hell, he didn't want to go back himself, newly hired be damned. But Aleta needed to be sure her fellow experiments were safe and so.. he would stay.

While people were still scouting for Aleta, Mark would take her to different places in town, starting with the zoo, as she would need to build up her arsenal in the event that she is found out. She would learn more about the world with Mark, learn what life was actually like outside of that horrid building. And they stuck together, like and older brother looking after his younger sister...

Things would change many months later, however. As due to not being able to find the escaped experiment, the laboratories made the decision to relocate. Somewhere further. Somewhere more secluded... And Mark had to follow them.

He made Aleta swear to not follow, as she could bring herself more danger by trying to save the others. He would be looking into how to free them himself. As reluctant as she was, Aleta agreed, and stood where she was for the next few months until the new tennant came. And she lived off the streets since.

Mark

He was the new scientist that helped me escape. He gave me my name, in honor of his sister. He's a huge dork.

31091

"Jackson"

He was the reptilian/avian experiment. He liked to poke fun at me. I got used to his jokes eventually. he was fun to be around... He was an orphan.

21091

"Leia"

The amphibian experiment. She was always forced to wear gowns... She was always so well mannered and defended me against Jackson often times. At least before I was able to fend for myself. She was an orphan.

"Kelvin"

I didn't learn his name until later. He was the eldest of us and said the names never mattered. But I suppose he came around when he shared it with me. He looked almost normal, but he his a bird's beak under his surgical mask. He was a volunteer.
