Florin is a Six Inch tall Sunflower Mutate. Due to his size, Florin clothes and arms himself in similar sized objects.

Physical Features

Hair: Florin’s hair is a collection of golden flower petals. His hair will move upwards under direct sunlight.

Eyes: The sclera (the whites of the eyes) is a dark brown, while the color & pupils are a cloudy white. His eyes are usually noted as having a ‘puppy like’ appearance, being quite big and round. They have been used well by Florin and those around him to change others minds.

Skin: His skin is a light tan color, though the lightness or darkness of his skin can slightly change depending on the environment around him. He’s usually seen with a few bumps and bruises over his body.

Body: Due to his younger age, Florin doesn’t have very defined muscles, but he is fit due to his constant exploring. Florin also has a scar across his torso, stretching across his stomach.

Flower Mutates: Flower Mutates reproduce through their pistil and anthers. The pistil and anthers are rarely seen as they are protected by the hats the flower mutates wear (This is a newer addition so some drawings of Florin without a hat may not include the pistil or anthers).
If a flower mutate isn’t wearing their hat, you are able to see the stigma part of the pistil sprouting from the crown of their head. On both sides of the stigma is an anther held onto a short filament (the look mimics antennas on bugs). Due to their reproductive organs being elsewhere, Flower Mutates (including Florin) don’t have any human-like unmentionables. They also don’t possess belly buttons.

Daytime Clothing

Mushroom: During the day, Florin protects and shades his head with a Fly Agaric mushroom. Due to their bright color, it serves as a warning, detering would be predators from biting into Florin. The mushroom has a hollow base where the stalk usually is, leaving a hole for Florin to put his head into. He also uses a small vine to tie the mushroom onto his head (the tie ties under his chin).

Shawl: Covering half of his torso is a small shawl made from leaves. The shawl is one full piece of clothing (excluding the collar which is attached) that is fastened at the front with a mini safety pin.

Pants: Florin’s pants are two large pieces of fabric (likely scrap fabric that Florin came across, potentially a crafted fabric from other Flower Mutates.) that are sewn together at the sides. The belt and leg ties are simply just vines, allowing Florin to easily adjust the tightness.

Shoes: Florin’s shoes are small red boots, likely from a children’s doll. During wet weather they squeak.

Nighttime Clothing

Simple Outfit: During the night, Florin tends to sleep, however if he decides to eat food he can remain awake during the night. His usual night outfit consists of a simple shirt (a petal shirt may no longer be the type of shirt) and shorts.

Cloak: He covers himself in a large cloak and uses it as protection and a blanket. The fabric is likely plant based, though it could be scrap fabric. The cloak is dual layered, having a more hearty and maroon-colored outside layer that’s better at facing the elements and a softer and warmer inner layer that’s a deep blue in color. The cloak has a large hood and around the neck is a circle of leaves, serving both as decoration and camouflage. The small bead and thread acts as a fastener, and can tighten or loosen the cloak.

Accessories

Florin carries along with him many accessories and he finds much delight in collecting knick knacks.

Bag: Strung across his body is a simple yellow messenger bag. A small button is used to close the bag. Fastened to the back of the bag with a safety pin is a sheath which houses a sewing needle, Florin’s mighty weapon.

Stick: Florin also carries along with him a walking stick. The stick is a small branch from the Mother Tree and is a very important item to him. He adorns the stick with beads, and during the night the walking stick will sprout small bioluminescent mushrooms, allowing Florin to see despite the darkness.

Vines: Wrapping all around Florin are small vines. These vines serve as extensions of the Flower Mutates. As they grow and mature they gain better control over the vines, and use them in many different ways. Florin usually has his vines wrap around his arms and legs. (When holding his walking stick, the vines are usually assisting him in keeping hold of the stick, otherwise he’ll usually sling the stick along his back with the assistance of the vines.) During the night, the frigid cold causes the vines to retreat to the warmth of the torso of Flower Mutates.
