Kuf'ell

Di chuka, Shatterspear

Born to the Shatterspear Tribe, Kuf'ell grew up wanting to see the world beyond the cliffs of the vale, eventually achieving a chance of this through signing up with the Horde. Being trained in the arts of Roguery, Kuf'ell served in the Northrend campaign as a scout. Following the war, he departed for Stranglethorn Vale in search of answers to the history of the Jungle Trolls, spending a few years among the Tribes there, learning of the old ways that had been long forgotten by his Tribe. Only leaving to aid the Darkspears in the rebellion against Garrosh. In the years since, Kuf'ell has resumed serving the Horde, with his eyes now set on earning a place among the Terrace of the Speakers in Dazar'alor.

Details

Personality

Much like the Loa he worships, Kuf'ell is a free spirit, valueing his personal freedom and the ability to go wherever and do whatever he pleases, which would often result in him shedding responsibilities that were thrust upon him, with age he has learned to better handle these responsibilities, but can still at times feel overwhelmed when the expectations of him are high.

Despite the circumstances he may find himself in, Kuf'ell prefers to try treating people based upon their own merit and not judge them based upon the preconceptions of their kind, much to the disapproval of others when others find out. Preferring to take the diplomatic approach, though not shying away from the need for more extensive action when there is no other option, especially when someone enrages the Troll in him.

Having a guilty pleasure for the usually fairer sex, Kuf'ell is as fond of women as he is his freedom, often letting his eyes wander when in their company with little effort towards being discrete.

Physical Description

Agile, lean and athletic - all the typical characteristics one would expect of a Rogue were encompassed in the male Troll’s physique.

Unlike many of his kin he does not bear tribal markings upon his body but does, similar to other Trolls, carry many scars - albeit most from exploration and travel and less so battle.

In addition, separating him apart from many of his Troll kin, some attention to appearance was clearly paid, his wild hair tamed into a ponytail, adorned with light braiding and facial hair trimmed down to a small patch that resided on his chin. All this resulted in a more presentable look by Trollish standards, but still lacking compared to many of the less savage races.

Proficiencies

Weaponry: Axes

Being his weapons of choice and one he has used for much of his life, he is quite proficient in dual-wielding axes in combat due to familiarity and experience, albeit mostly self taught and lacking any form of formal combat training.

Weaponry: Swords

Having received some training in the use of swords, he has an average profiency in wielding them and could effectively comabt a foe with little to no training but likely lose to anyone wielding a weapon with which they are greatly familiar with wielding.

Weaponry: Daggers

Being a rogue, he is no stranger to using a dagger should the situation require a more "to the point" approach. However he is not very fell versed in using one in combat and lacks familiarity.

Weaponry: Bows

He can use a bow, but his experience with doing so is centered around hunting prey. Give him a stationary or slow moving target and he can most likely hit it, but against an intelligent target who knows he's there and he would soon regret if that was the only weapon he had to hand.

Magic: Shadow

After joining the Horde and being trained in the arts of Roguery, he learned the basics of manipulating the shadows to serve his will. Furthered by his time in Stranglethorn where he learned a different approach to the art of Shadowmancy more akin to his Troll heretage. Whilst far from a master, he can comfortably wield this school of magic to fit his needs.

Magic: Arcane

A skill he was planned to learn, but that was cut short. His knowledge of the Arcane school of magic is severely lacking, resulting in him needing alternative sources of it when attempting communication with his Loa during rituals.

Misc: Climbing

Climbing as early as the days of a mispent Troll youth with too much time on his hands within the secluded village of the Shatterspear Tribe, he was always trying to climb to places. A trait that has proven useful since his departure from the tribes lands during his travels.

Misc: Fishing

Growing up in Shatterspear Village, one of the Tribes main source of food was caught via fishing from the large lake beside them among the mountains. Thus he is quite familiar with using a rod to fish up a meal when needed.

Biography

Early Life

Year 6-26

Born and raised within the secluded Troll settlement of Shatterspear Vale in Darkshore, he spent much of his early life getting into trouble by attempting to sneak off and catch a glimpse of the world beyond the mountain walls of his village, a pursuit that one day paid off in him managing to climb to the lesser peaks seperating them from lands held by the Night Elves, only to lose his footing and tumble down.

When the young Troll regained conciousness, he found himself within the company of a Night Elven priestess of Elune, who had chosen to take pity on the unconcious Troll youth and take care of him until he was well enough to be returned to his village.

The Horde

Year 26-27

Upon reaching adulthood amongst his Tribe, Kuf'ell made the decision to leave the village, seeking the Horde, whom his village had some interaction with, believing this to be the best course of action to give him the opportunity to see more of the world. Here, based off of what skills he already showed profiency in he was further trained in the arts of being a Rogue, going on to be assigned lesser missions involving scouting Horde lands.

Once the need for the Horde to travel to Northrend had come, Kuf'ell was drafted to further serve as a scout within the frozen tundras of the northern continent to aid the Horde Expedition, performing in scouting parties and in the delivery of missives between the settlements. It was during this time that he developed a distaste for the Orc in charge of the expedition; Garrosh Hellscream. Upon his return with the rest of the Horde and Garrosh's being made Warchief of the Horde, Kuf'ell decided it was time for him to move on.

Stranglethorn

Year 27-28

After a brief return to Shatterspear Village, Kuf'ell was inspired to journey to the lands his Tribe had once come from in recent history in hopes of learning more about their kind, so not long after his departure from the Horde, he sought his way out to the Goblin town of Ratchet to sail for the jungles Stranglethorn.

After arriving in Booty Bay, it did not take long for the Troll to leave the port town and venture far enough into the lush jungles to find the native Jungle Trolls, despite initially keeping his distance and observing them from afar, it did not take too long for his presence to be noticed and whilst initially hesitant to interact with him as an outsider, he was eventually warmed to as a fellow Jungle Troll meaning no ill will and merely wishing to know more about their shared history, leaning about his Tribe before they departed Stranglethorn as well as many of the practices long since forgotten to his people over the course of their travels from the Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor.

Over time, he was eventually treated as one of their own and welcomed into the ancient walled city of Zul'gurub where he spent years interacting with, and eventually earning himself a modestly high position amongst them, serving as a representative when the Gurubashi needed talk or trade between themselves and the other races.

Shatterspear's Fall

Year 28

During his time in Stranglethorn, once the sundering that shook Azeroth had struck, word reached Kuf'ell that part of the mountains that sealed his village off from the rest of the world had collapsed, and having made their own pact with the Horde, his people planned an attack on the Night Elves per the order of Garrosh Hellscream and his plans to take the Elven lands. Knowing this would likely not end well for his people, he was allowed to take a small force of Gurubashi warriors along with him to perhaps prevent his tribe from making such a grave mistake.

Despite their best efforts to make it to Shatterspear in time, by the time they had arrived, Shatterspear Vale was but the burning remains of what once was. Staying behind to search for survivors, Kuf'ell was able to find a few, helping them get back to the Horde and ensuring as many of his tribe survived as possible.

A Path Anew

Year 28-30

Feeling lost upon his return to Stranglethorn, Kuf'ell found himself reflecting on what had transpired and many of the choices he had made living his life this far. After much contemplation he decided to forge a new path for himself, taking an even greater interest in learning the ways of old, learning to perform rituals to give thanks to the Loa, learning from those who were considered blessed by the Loa themselves, and eventually finding he had earned the favor of a loa himself when he was met with a servant of the Loa in the form of an Ivory Raptor, a creature said to be a representative of Legba.

Kuf'ell learned this to be true after consulting with Witch-Doctors of the Gurubashi, and so with his journey for new purpose getting off to a good start, he chose pay reverence to Legba and carry on with his life following in the ways of this Loa.

Visions of Pandaria

Year 30

Continuing to strengthen his bond with his new Loa, Kuf'ell was granted visions during his slumber of events to come with an isle shrouded in mist that he believed would play a part in the shaping the future of Troll-kind, deciding these visions could not go ignored, Kuf'ell left the vale in pursuit of answers, eventually leading him to find enough information and the means to sneak aboard one of the Horde zepplins departing for Pandaria.

After managing to get off of the aircraft before it's spectaculous crash, he spent some time travelling around the various areas of these lands, learning of the Zandalari and their revived alliance with the native Mogu, he eventually stumbled upon a series of ancient tablets that he recognized as some form of Zandali scripture, but was of some ancient branch he could not decipher. With a gut feeling that the contents of these tablets was of some importance, he retreived them and went on his way to seeking safe passage to more familiar lands.

Their contents unknown to those who remained in Gurubashi lands, they sought answers, sending representitives to the other Tribes in hopes that between them all, they could decipher the ancient texts. Eventually proving successful as the various regional branches of Zandali were cross referenced to translate the tablets, revealing Troll legends of old pertaining to the Mogu.

With these in hand, the Gurubashi further rallied behind the forces of Zul, leading the Trolls down a dark path, not agreeing with some of the decisions being made following the reveal of these legends, Kuf'ell was eventually forced to depart Stranglethorn, bringing a fellow Shatterspear who had followed after him to the Gurubashi for fear they would strike at her to get at him.

Rebellions

Year 30-32

In the time following his departure from Stranglethorn Vale, Kuf'ell returned to Kalimdor in hopes of finding safety with the Horde he had once left behind, instead finding the faction amidst rebellion between the current standing warchief: Garrosh Hellscream and the Darkspear Troll chieftain, Vol'jin. It was an easy choice to stand with his Jungle Troll brethren, fighting alongside the rebels until the warchief was aptly dealt with and the Darkspear Chieftain chosen to take his place.

After haven played his part in restoring the Horde to how he felt it should be, Kuf'ell chose to try standing down from a life spent lurking in the shadows of battlefields, using the momentary peace afforded to him to try settling down and make a life for himself.

Legion

Year 32-33

Despite his efforts to settle down, the life of peace and quiet was to be short lived, as once the ominious green clouds began to darken the skies marking the legion's return, Kuf'ell knew he could not stand by as an onlooker. Signing back up as a capable scout, Kuf'ell was later shipped out to the Broken Isles following the initial incursions, serving from the sidelines of the shadows as a Rogue by delivering missives and plans between the various outposts as well as the odd infiltration, reconnaissance and rescue missions where the need arose.
