Profile

(there's arts of chars within his story here too because meehh)

physical || He stands at 5'11" with his body on the muscular side and his skin a dark caramel color. While he appears in his late 20s or early 30s to a human standard, he's closer to having been alive for 300, give or take. He couldn't tell you an exact number. The years on the run sort of blur together after a while. He has a deep voice that commands attention, even when he doesn't wish it.

Luther's hair is a deep reddish brown, thick and shaggy, and somewhat long. Usually it's styled into a faux hawk, but naturally hangs just passed his slightly pointed ears, his right of which has a small silver thick hoop earring through the lobe. He has a short, usually neatly trimmed beard. A pair of 5-inch horns protrude up from his head, the base the same shade as his skin and fading to a darker brown at the tips. His tail, the same as his skintone, is long and thin with a large tuft of hair at the end that is the same color as the hair on his head. Has dark navy blue markings on his face and along various places of his body (undecided about how these look other than his face SIGHS) that glow a lighter, cyan blue when he uses his demonic powers (or gets angy). He spends a lot of time under cover of a cloak so as to stay hidden from prying eyes because the glowing of his markings signifies him as the last of his kind: a highblood. And in his case, he would rather stay undetected by the wrong eyes while he goes about his mission.

He always wears a silver chain necklace that has a ring on it given to him by his mother. It has three stones; the center is a white diamond (slightly larger than the other two), then a moonstone (pale, opalescent blue), and a sunstone (pale translucent scarlet). There's a silver ring around his left horn, a common accessory among demonkind. Has a small scar striking through his right brow. His eyes are a deep violet shade. A pair of 5-inch horns protrude up from his head, the base the same shade as his skin and fading to a darker brown at the tips. His tail, the same as his skintone, is long and thin with a large tuft of hair at the end that is the same color as the hair on his head.

As far as abilities go, he doesn't use them often for the sake of keeping himself concealed. The obvious comes with having wings: flight. These dark gray, feathery wings can be hidden from sight as if he doesn't have them at all. Like the marks on his skin, his wings have a faint cyan glow to them, signifying once again his lineage and another reason he doesn't fly often. He can wield flames at the tips of his fingers, an innate demonic ability that he never really has used because the woman who saved him at a young age doesn't possess it herself and therefore couldn't teach the ethereal skill.

He has one other ability as well...but he doesn't know it yet. One handed down through his grandmother's side. Not demonic, nor angelic, but an ability gifted by the moon goddess, not intended for any but the one it was bestowed upon and yet...
It could give him the upper hand in his upcoming battles if he can perfect its use. But that will take some...time.

Looking at Luther it would be clear from appearance that he is a demon--and a demon of high standing no less if caught in the wrong scenario. However, his mother was a pureblooded demon and his father the son of a hybrid demon and pureblooded angel. While Luther was born with what cannot be mistaken for anything but full demonic powers and influence, what is he, really? but a lowly mishmash of hybrid scum? At least, that's what any pureblooded demon would say and thus is why he must be so careful to not get killed before he has the chance to prove he's worthy of his goals.

behavior || As he goes out of his way to not interact with others often, his people skills have dulled considerably over the many many years he's been wandering town to town, avoiding any who might be connected to the Hybrid King even the slightest. Tragic as it is, he doesn't speak of his past often or really at all.

New people are...difficult. He is kind and cordial enough, but he's fallen out of sync with current ways of communication. It hasn't escaped him that there are times he doesn't even know what's going on, try as he might to play it off. Despite this, he can be rather well-spoken given the opportunity. The only ones he is comfortable around are those he keeps closest at his side:

Enora: A made demon hybrid. The weapons master from the castle of his childhood. She saved him and his best friend the night the current king took siege.
Etzel: A pureblooded demon. Practically his brother. He and his family lived in the castle with Luther and his own, among others. Big lug, likes to fight.
Keely: A born demon hybrid. Xe has great fighting prowess and a penchant for any and all clothing as well as all manner of people. Giant flirt.
Devon:  A human. Saved from an awful life in the mines by Luther and his companions. Incredible people skills; has countless connections despite his young age.

While Luther has been building up to this inevitable war with the current hybrid demon king, he isn't quite sure how prepared he really is for it. One thing he does know, however, is that there will be losses, and he isn't ready for that. Not again in his lifetime does he want to lose another important person; be they hybrid, demon, or even angel. With this, he's decidedly, fiercely protective and anxious. In addition to that, he could end up making some foolish decisions in order to prevent casualties. Despite knowing what he has to do, he's lived his life under the belief that violence shouldn't be the answer to anything. It's as his father would have wanted. But over time, Luther has also come to the conclusion that it is unavoidable and becoming a necessary evil to accomplish his, and others', needs. The state of the world cannot go on as it has been. The current leaders are monsters who only care for themselves and he is going to start with the one who took his family.

He has always kept a strict training regimen for himself. He's known since his family's massacre that there would be a day...or many days...years or decades possibly, where he would need to be prepared. Where he would need to take back the throne in order to appease his troubled past and make life better for those living throughout the kingdoms as a whole. He often spars with his companions. To this day, they are still able to teach him something new now and then.

He prefers not to eat meat. Something about it strikes his nose wrong. He'll eat just about anything else and a lot of it if he's able. Sometimes his companions wonder if his stomach is bottomless. He doesn't get to gorge often, though, as their group doesn't usually have much money. They find and make enough together to get by and that's about it. His contribution to the group is usually selling wood-carved wares and trinkets; a hobby he long ago picked up and has gotten quite good at.

Luther is honest to the point of being an awful liar. He also tends to have more luck on his side than any demon should. These two things are likely to go hand in hand, and have in the past. His temper is slow and rare to rise but once the fuse is shortened he's one of the least friendly of persons you've ever met. He forgets all restraint that's been taught and practiced his whole life. Even he hates this person he becomes so he's careful to not let things progress that far. It's only happened twice and he'd prefer to keep it that way. He's a legend in one town, literally and figuratively, and he's just thankful they never learned his name or origin (somehow).

history || He grew up in a castle in the capital of hybrid territory where his father had built up community and prosperity after running from the demonic kingdom that no longer wanted a hybrid as their ruler. Torzir was named king here as well. All was well. Luther and his siblings, who he barely remembers now, were told stories often about their family, their origins. Astounding stories of war and peace. Who they were. And also told not to boast about it. Remaining humble was important, but so was keeping sensitive information from those who held malice in their hearts. A sentiment Torzir should have heeded against a certain hybrid himself.

At a young age, all of that was taken away from him when his father and almost everyone else who resided in the castle at that time were slaughtered by a man who was thought to be trusted. Borkol led one of his father's armies...and led that army against him. With his family murdered in cold blood, Luther's been alone for quite some time, save for the few people he travels with. He hardly knows how he made it out of the massacre that eliminated his family. He has subconsciously suppressed the ordeal for over 300 years to save himself some of the inevitable grief that comes along with it, but that's soon to change.

While Luther technically has rights to the demonic throne, he's stayed under the radar his entire life simply so he wouldn't lose said life. Hiding one's birthmarks that sometimes glow if he isn't careful isn't exactly easy. Despite being of higher status, by blood, Luther has always acted as if he belongs to the lower class of demons. He hasn't tried to take the throne from who stole it all those years ago, but he increasingly feels he must. It's as if he were living out the stories of angels and demons told to him and his siblings so long ago.

Most in the wider world believe him dead along with the rest of his family, that no heir to the last traditional demon king even remains, but he can't play it too safe. He's sure there are some demons, hybrid or otherwise, out there searching for his head. He can feel the winds beginning to change and can only hope he chooses his moment correctly before the storm.
