Can sense spirits and "spiritual health"; after fledging (see below), automatically ejects spirits/souls by touch. If trained, can perform more controlled exorcisims, etc.

Powers:

-UNFLEDGED, aka most often, Husk doesn't have much in the way of powers.

-His racial ability is merely to sense the spiritual world, but he cannot affect them. Spirits may or may not see him. He can communicate with particularly determined spirits.

-FLEDGED,  in theory, Husk would gain the ability to exorcise spirits and souls by skin contact. It's largely involuntary, which is why his race tends to forbid physical contact with outsiders. Once detached, Husk could learn to reanimate the dead and stitch souls back in place. And, although forbidden, his people are capable of pairing different souls in empty vessels.

Essentials:

-Belongs to an entire race created by the god of Death; they are raised in total isolation aboard the god's space station, the Temple of Souls.

-Husk ran away before he could go through with the traditional (super traumatic) rite called "fledging."

-As a result of skipping this very important ritual, Husk can't actually do any of the badass things that his kind are known for out in the world.

-People keep thinking he can kill them or destroy their souls or whatever...which he definitely can't. Still avoids physical contact at literally all costs, though he desperately wants friends.

-He is very frail, but has a bizarre amount of stamina for his scrawny frame. Always drowning in layers and layers of clothing.

-It is strange that he travels without a second death priest; they usually travel in pairs. His BFF was supposed to escape the Temple at the same time, but she got caught.

Relationships:

Cappella:

Royal guard who worked directly for the goddess of Flame. It's her duty to return Husk to the god of Death (their deities are allies), but shenanigans make this difficult to do quickly. She was protective out of professional obligation at first, but came to really care about Husk's wellbeing.

Lox:

Met through Cappella, after his rescue. Husk doesn't find him nearly so offputting as she does, but is still nervous to meet new people. He seems like a nice guy, though!
