Summary

When Elias was born she had a normal skin tone, but her eyes were molten gold. When she cried, streams of gold fell from her face and solidified when they dropped to the floor, in essence creating currency from nothing. The local midwife who helped birth Elias, reported what she saw to her husband who in turn reported it to the highest authority that he could; the king of the land took great interest in that information. Elias was stolen away from her family when she was just a few days old.

She had an assortment of wetnurses, nannies and caretakers. She had anything she wanted given to her and nothing she asked for was off limits, making her grow up to become a very spoiled child. When she was happy and willing they could harvest an almost infinite amount of gold from her, making the Kingdom and the king she lived with the wealthiest monarch in existence. Elias was raised to believe the king was her father, she loved him and she idolized him. Elias did everything in her power to make him proud, she didn’t know her luxurious life wasn’t because the king saw her as his daughter but just a way to gain wealth.

Elias hit puberty and started to act out and rebel, as most teenagers do, she was made to realize her true place in her “Father’s” court. Elias was 15 when she first tried to run away, ultimately not getting very far before royal guards captured her. This action made her go from spoiled catered child to contained harvestable.

She seethed hatred and entitlement, she spat orders at the guards who stood by her cage, shouted and demanded for things that always fell on deaf ears. Her wings were clipped and it was her own father that held the scissors. It created a confusing whirlwind of emotions within Elias. She was in agony, she was angry and she was broken. All of it was too much to bear and emotions fled from her, creating an apathetic mask that she still wears to this day.

She had nothing to do in her cage but focus on herself. It took 4 years until she was able to control her gold output and maleate it to her whim. Although these skills still remained unreliable and difficult for her to use.

In those 4 years Elias was able to befriend a guard. This guard was the only person to show her kindness, claiming she did not belong in a cage and most importantly as a human she belonged to no one. (Please note this part of the story is suberbly rough and needs to be heavily edited.)

When Elias figured out, very hastily mind you, how to control the temperature of her gold she melted the bars of her cage and broke free. The befriended guard was on duty that night and instead of helping with her escape, was terrified over her abilities and in a blind panic called for extra help to contain her.

Elias shed golden tears as she encased the guard's body in melting gold, killing them in a slow agonizing death. She fought her way free and went into hiding.

She emerged from hiding in her late twenties/early thirties. She bore a melting crown above her head in a taunting fashion. Beckoning whomever to come and just try to recapture her. Elias built a rather large colony hidden away from the world in dense forests, lands away from her original kingdom. She used her ability to her advantage and created a thriving community with her wealth.

Elias is loved and adored by her people. She is considered a fair and wondrous King. Though if you asked her, she couldn’t care less about the people who makeup her kingdom. She doesn’t bother getting to know anyone or connect with her citizens. She believes if she keeps them happy and treats them fairly the more likely they will join her armies and fight for her, less likely to revolt against her, ultimately keeping her freedom safe.
