Living in a new apartment with people she doesn't know well, Evolle is trying to live a different life with her new income. As things in the studio started to get more expected and comfortable, (although she hates to admit that,) she felt a job security she had never felt before as a low caste. After four consistant months of work, Evolle really started to feel like she had a place there despite the awkwardness in caste and people not taking her seriously. She can't understand how Rhurie thinks, or why Rhurie wants her there what so ever, but she doesn't complain.
THEN
Being a lowblood and growing up quickly like the rest of the lowbloods around her, Evolle has always been an anxious and paranoid troll. She usually tries to stick around others her caste in fear of what other castes may decide to do with her if she was alone. Thankfully she always had trolls that had her back and they had hers... that was until she started to lose control of her psionics. It was minimal at first, shocking trolls around her when she was surprised or happy but it turned more extreme as sweeps went on... trolls often leaving her due to the trouble. During this time she met another brass blood named Iellok, who pitied her deeply for her psionic troubles. After getting an apartment together with a few others, Evolle's mental state started to plummet due to her struggling to get jobs. It didn't take long for her and Iellok to begin a moirallegiance.
Being close palemates, Evolle's whole persona changed. Iellok and Evolle relished in each others company, sometimes being mistaken for a matespritship but they knew they never wanted each other in that way. They were always there when they needed it the most which lead to them living in their hell hole as if it were a paradise. The security is what Evolle learned to adore in Iellok, and Iellok needed Evolle's passion for life. For sweeps they stood strong, roommates changed over time and so did their jobs yet they never lost that connection. They felt like soulmates.
When Evolle's eyes started to become dim, worry set into their hearts. She started to get migraines and with that, her psionics only got more out of control. Evolle took jobs she could do at home and Iellok tried his best to comfort her and do extra jobs to care for their sides of the rent. It didn't hurt their relationship but Evolle knew someday she would need to get access to medication for the migraines. Iellok knew this as well, they would have to get somebody of a higher caste to sponsor her. Yet, this was ignored in the mess to get money.
After a day off, Evolle went to pick up Iellok from work. Her psionics lashed out after an argument with his co-worker and the rest felt like a blur in her memory. There was a violent brawl between her and them, she was losing... Iellok eventually come to her aid. Blood was spilled all around them and Evolle thought this would be the end- but Iellok protected her from the final blow. They ran far but Evolle's world snapped in half when Iellok gave into his exhaustion and fell to the pavement, no longer able to go on. She dragged him to an alley with the last of her strength.
Evolle didn't plead for him to not die- even in shock, she knew better then that- but she comforted him in his final moments. Iellok was gone. He wasn't coming back.
Taking his large jacket and putting it on, she knew lowbloods didn't get burials and so she left his body there to be taken by the drones. It was one of the nicer ways to go if she had to be honest. Evolle mourned properly when she got back to the small plain of grass behind her hive... her only support was gone. She didn't know how long she was there on her knees wailing, but the smell of burnt grass and fire brought her back to her senses; Evolle's psionics went out of control. It looked like a small meteor shower sparkled around her in its destruction. There was no sign of plant life left other then the grass between her fingers.
Evolle realized quickly she was going to need a higher caste sponsor and without the help of Iellok, she needed to resort to the jobs she never would have taken before. After some trouble, she finally got a job under Rhurie Omviat as an 'intern' at his movie studio. Evolle just did his errands around town, but it was better then some other things she had seen. Life without Iellok was painful and unforgiving and her eyes only got worse with the stress. As humiliating as it was, she was glad Rhurie she worked for thought her lack of control was hilarious rather then a reason to kick her to the streets. Rhurie even gave her a prescription for her migraines... but nothing was able to be done for her voidrot and coming blindness. It was the cruelty that she expected from this society.
Her life felt like a gamble everyday but she still wanted to test her luck. Iellok left her alive so she forced herself to play.
