The Another are a disorganized group of creatures all originating from what is hypothesized to be another dimension adjacent to our own.
All confirmed specimens vary wildly in appearance and behavior, and all have traits that don’t seem to have evolved from a common ancestor. Some lack internal structures entirely, some do not. How these non-organisms live is unclear.
It is currently believed that the dimension they originate from (coined The In-Between) acts as a sort of .. prism. Reflecting other worlds around it and warping them onto itself, creating a sort of broken reflection of whatever surrounds it. Nonsensical and chaotic, and acting in a way completely beyond our understanding.
The creatures, hereafter referred to as “Another”, rarely share anything in common with each other. Some are very similar to humans; speaking, walking upright, having their own morals and ambitions, .. while some lack any similarities at all, a few even escaping our ability to comprehend their form. The most curious thing about the Another that slip through the boundaries of our world is that quite a few of them seem to be highly adapted to predate or parasitize humans, specifically.
