An upbeat and humourous fellow, that tends to have a crack for teasing and flirting with anyone he deems fit. Kang appears to be quite friendly and some would even say gullible, as he is rather easy to persuade, others reckon, since he seemed to have jumped on the team bandwagon quite easily. Nevertheless do not be fooled, as his build is not just for show, and he actually does a 360º turn, personality-wise, as soon as he enters the battlefield. It's a rather horrifying scene, like Kang, despite being covered in blood, shows quite a vicious and sadistic expression, as opposed to his default one.

He is a touchy person, not to mention totally clueless about the true meaning of personal space. So even though he only met someone a few seconds ago, Kang is definitely the type of person to have at least his arms around their shoulders. This particular trait of his got him in trouble at first, since neither Gim nor Jenah were the most touchy people. The outcome was the same for a while, Kang whining about their behavior with a fairly noticeable slap mark on either of his cheeks. Until he finally got both to warm up to his presence. Despite being “reasonably handsome”, or so he likes to believe, his flirty remarks are never returned. Kang doesn’t really know why though and tends to sulk a bit when this happens. Deep down he is a romantic, so he chooses to believe that love can, in fact, blossom, contrary to what others might think given the tower environment.

His bubbly personality does hide a person with fears and past scars, emotionally and physically. It’s rare for him to mention anything about his past but when he does, even if briefly, there’s always a pained and regretful expression present. Normally after a rampage of his, Kang is surprisingly quiet and rather keeps his distance from his own teammates, if asked why he only replies that he is too dirty at the moment. The truth is, he is on guard- he has been pushed aside when he was a kid because of these moments of his, so whenever it happens again a small part of him believes he is nothing but a bloody killer and he might lose sight of what truly matters to him. Shin has caught him twice all huddling up in a corner of his room after, his whole body shaking, making the scout believe he was close to breaking down completely.

Over the years, Kang became more protective of his friends, putting his own well-being and safety aside, he took the role of being a shield, quite literally, which result gained him a few new scars. He has more control over his emotions, seeing as he can now follow orders through, instead of running wild in the field. He still kept most of his initial personality but he did mature a bit, following Gim’s advice, Kang tries to be more aware of his surroundings and of any suspicious approaches before he makes his move.

Backstory

Abandoned by his blood relatives on one of the lower floors, Kang was lucky enough to have been found by an old man that took him in and took care of him for a while. Even though it didn’t last long, with the old man dying a few years later, Kang had at least a roof over his head for a couple of years, which was enough to teach him a few tricks to survive on his own or at least try to.

However as one could predict, a young child can only go as far, especially when his knowledge of his surroundings was little to none- He didn’t have the chance to wander around much when his caretaker was still alive, given his health after all... He walked around the streets, for days to find any food, as starved as he was, he didn’t even care how little or how weird it was. Already weak, he passed out in a dark and secluded alley, realizing he was dying and could do nothing to prevent it. Tears falling, cursing at the figures above, the young child used the last of his strength to shout out, that maybe someone would come to help he wished to at least. Before collapsing, he vaguely remembers a small figure approaching before everything gets dark.
