wren was a doe who was tortured and murdered by trophy hunters. the goddess of the forest took pity on them, and reserected them as a forest spirit. they protect the forest from evil people, killing anyone who comes in with bad intentions. they also take a softer, sweet feral version to lead children and lost hikers out of the forest.
