My idea for them is that they'd be these almighty God figures that guard and protect the Void of Light and Restlessness. Basically, a purgatory type place that only especially chosen people may enter and leave at any time. It's a safe space for t(w)eens that feel unsafe in their own mind. Crypt and her bud would be the only suitable characters for these roles, sadly. They fit too perfectly.
