Noir is always with Josefina, before meeting her she didn't have a name or a very developed consciousness. Most people can't see her, and no one knows where she comes from.
There seems to be more shadows like her, but she has a more “human” appearance and the capacity of having a coherent speech.

Her and Josefina have been together since she met her at the hospital, when she was hospitalized because of a skin cancer that had spread to other vital organs. They decided to make a deal, so Josefina can live and Noir can interact with the physical world.
Noir made herself a vector between dimensions, taking Josefina sickness into the dimension where she comes from, where time works differently.

She can walk past through objects and needs to be close to Josefina to be able to touch things, her head is higher than most door frames, she sometimes pretends like she hit them by saying “ouch”, even though she didn’t. Other smaller shadows usually follow her, and she mostly ignores them.

Noir is very curious and likes malleable objects, things that change shape when touching them, like sand and dough and likes to tarnish windows with her hands. But she cannot do these things all the time, as it would be weird for most people to see these objects flying on the air or stains appearing out of nowhere, for this she needs to have a lot of self-control.
