Hecarastrus

Demon(s) of Ink

Three hellhound demon siblings who wound up joined together as a freeform cerberus due to a botched ritual. Though overlapped in one standard body by default, their ink-related demon abilities allow them to transition to a goo-like state and temporarily rearrange and shapeshift their body to various extents, usually to branch their individual limbs or torsos from the shared form, limited by the fact they can never completely detach from each other. The color-coded markings on their body make it possible to tell who is currently in control of what part.

Haestus

The Stoic One

The middle head, Haestus is the more serious and focused of the three with a very stoic nature. He rarely emotes, and often has to be the one to keep the other two focused on any task they may need to do.

He prefers to keep their power usage to a minimum, personally only using it when necessary and with specific intent. The other two using the powers more often than he'd prefer sometimes gets on his nerves, as they have a sort of stamina that they can all feel, and he likes having it "charged up" in case they need to use it for any tasks later.

Aside from having a focus to get tasks done sooner rather than later, Haestus values peaceful, quiet moments where he just gets to rest and take in their surroundings. He loves pretty outdoors landscapes, and is very fascinated by the progression and evolution of life; as such, he has interest in things like agriculture, farming, biology, and geology, liking the idea of direct experience and influence over the whole process. He never seems super enthusiastic about this interest due to his stoic persona, but very clearly focuses on it when it comes up.

Icarus

The Smug One

The right head from their perspective, Icarus has a bit of an ego and is the most sociable of the three.

He uses their powers somewhat frequently without any practical intent, mainly just doing so to show off and perform what are essentially party tricks. He also has a semi-common habit of separating his arms from the others' while doing tasks or making hand gestures, preferring to use hands that are completely under his control.

With his ego and sociability, it can be expected that Icarus likes fashion and partying, which he absolutely does - a bit limited by what extent the other two are comfortable with, though he often sorta pushes them to the edge of their comfort zone. Icarus also really likes physical activities, especially sports; he loves the levels of physical coordination and strategy involved. Often watching them, he enjoys actually playing them more, which he sometimes talks the others into doing. He'd love to go onto a professional team, but knows the other two would never go for such a commitment. Doesn't stop him from still occasionally bringing it up, though.

Libera

The Fiery One

The left head from their perspective, Libera is considered somewhat fiery - sometimes playing around (often along with Icarus), but is also the one of the three with the least patience, easily getting frustrated when an activity drags on for longer than she'd like, or when the other two get in their own arguments. There's a 50/50 chance for her interventions to either defuse the argument, or make it worse with her as a third participant.

She uses their shared powers in a casual manner - not nearly as reserved as Haestus, but also not quite as liberally as Icarus. She has her times where she just messes around with them, especially if her and Icarus are doing some sort of two-person trick (they hardly ever gain Haestus's cooperation for such things), but generally her power use can just be chalked up to her making everyday tasks just slightly easier where Haestus wouldn't, or just more fun for her to do.

Libera also has an interest in learned magic, particularly those of the dark arts. While not a central interest to her, she still spends a decent amount of time researching dark magic tomes, and knows a decent variety of spells. Sometimes she tries to show off by using dark magic rather than their inherent Ink powers for everyday tasks or tricks, to varying levels of success. She also occasionally takes various college courses on Zephyr just out of general curiosity on mortal culture, but between their three schedules, she doesn't have time to take very many at once. She often likes to discuss her courses with the others, trying to learn about things with them; they're both generally less interested, but sometimes pay more attention on certain subjects than others.

Skills & Abilities

Freeform Cerberus

Hecarastrus can reshape their body to an extent, giving a somewhat melty ink-like appearance while altering their shape. This is somewhat limited, as they have a sort of magic stamina where doing so too extensively will make them tired and make it harder for them to shapeshift until they rebuild their magic stamina. Aside from this, the extent of their shapeshifting only allows them to separate their arms, and in less common instances torsos or legs, from one another, or stretching out and extending or minorly reshaping parts of themselves.

This of course allows them to do their own things with multiple sets of arms or stretch out to extend their arms past what they'd normally be able to reach. Or more abstract restructuring such as giving themselves spikes or forming holes in themselves to avoid hits, though the stranger it gets the harder it is for them to coordinate and the more tired it makes them. Another limitation is they cannot split pieces of themselves free from their main mass, so this prevents them from splitting into separate bodies or re-shaping a separated part of themselves into an autonomous trap, for example.

Ink Manipulation

As a more literal manifestation of powers for a Demon of Ink, they can manipulate ink as a physical resource, even including once-dried ink. With this, they can form it into physical abstract shapes or representations of objects, such as weaponry or mechanisms. Like with the shapeshifting, this also affects their magic stamina, with more exhaustion the larger or more complex the formed object is.

Painting Portals

If there is a landscape rendered in an ink-based medium, Hecarastrus can enter it; the internal landscape is quite limited only based upon what can literally be seen in the image. While in a painting, they can access other painted landscapes that are within physical range of the image, allowing them to essentially warp from one painting to another, as long as they can figure out the path.
