Yuu has a blunt and straightforward personality. He doesn't like it when others dance around questions or avoid being forward with him and treats everyone the same way. A lot of people look at his hooded eyes, lazy expressions, and refusal to walk and assume he's the lackadaisical type, but he's very dedicated in his hero studies and bypasses tact to get what he wants.

Personality

Despite his blunt personality, his way of speaking is slow and noncommittal, so his neutral comments can sound rude and compliments sound unsure or forced (ending things like "You look nice," with "I guess" or "Maybe"). Despite his apparent arrogance he’s extremely loyal to those that earn his respect and he defends them at any cost. Yuu has confidence without much pride, so he'll do many embarrassing things without thought (even when he causes everyone around him secondhand embarrassment). He's the "accidental genius" type, where things tend to go his way no matter how unprepared he is; not that he doesn't try to succeed, he just tends to get really lucky. He is always on his damn phone live tweeting and snapchatting everything.

Coming To UA

Yuu looks up to Ochako and decided he wanted to join UA ever since reading about her fighting her performance in the sports festival when he was 14. He noticed they had similar quirks (in application and function). He continued to follow her throughout middle school and watched fights and read articles about her for tips on how to better utilize his own quirk. He sought her out after his 1st day at UA and introduced himself, asking her to train with him. He really does admire Ochako and she's honestly one of the only people he speaks to/about with any finality.
