Without taking time to get to know him, Rad will probably be the biggest, most pessimistic grump that ever existed. He seems very cold and emotionless at first, but after getting to know him, he is actually rather happy and adventurous (perhaps a bit too adventurous....) A lot of the time he seems very dazed and "out-of-tune" with the world, but that's only because he tends to daydream a lot. He is also very apathetic when it comes to many things, sadly. He has an "I don't really give a single fuck" attitude when it comes to things.

He has a very intense dislike towards humanity; as they were the ones to create him, and saw him as a defect. He much rather have died, but the scientists ended up selling him to the government. He hates his "job" of producing gas in order to make bombs for the USA to use in war. He'd much rather be outside and be free.

As strong as his dislike to humans is, he has an excellent relationship with his "trainer." They both have a mutual understanding of each other, and a lot of respect for one another! One of the only reasons Rad hasn't escaped yet is because he doesn't want to leave the only person he actually considers a friend behind in the lab. Their relationship is basically all those sad, yet heart-warming stories about policemen, and people in the army have with their dogs. (Only it's an asshole cat, in this case.) It's extremely hard for him to open up, but once he does, know that he trusts you completely and that he cares immensely about you.

Rad is also very smart, and because of his human speech capabilities he can communicate and learn on a more mental level that does not involve first hand experiances. Him and his human often study together, with his human teaching him lots of the subjects he took in school, with dusty old textbooks his human forgot to return. Rad's favorite subject is math, and he loves doing pre-calculus work the most. His second favorite is biology; even though he slightly detests it because he is supposed to be a break through in the biology field, he finds it intresting to how he could apply biology to real life.

If Rad is good at one thing, it's speaking his mind. He's brutally honest when it comes to sharing his opinion. At the same time, however, he never takes his monotone form of speaking into account, and his words can often come out as very sarcastic and rude. He doesn't mean it, he really thinks he's being a good guy, but when he sees the saddened look on their faces, his heart drops a little. It's one of many reasons he chooses not to be socially active anymore, especially when he doesn't have his mask on. He's ashamed of his face and is terrified of the fact that others may hate him for his appearances, even though they usually push him away for his pessimistic personality.

• How The Gas Works

The gas he produces is like smoking for years and years and destroying your lungs over a course of many years. However, instead of years, the gas can (and will) destroy your lungs in about an hour or so. The way this happens, is that the smoke sticks to the side of the windpipe, bronchioles, and lungs, covering them in a sticky tar/soot-like substance. This usually causes irritation in the tissue, which then causes the tissue to swell and bloat up, blocking any possible air from entering the lungs. The victim eventually dies from suffocation.

The gas can be injected directly into the blood stream to create a similar effect. The gas actually ends up being carried like oxygen, but sticks the sides of vein and arteries (and the heart if it makes it that far.) They end up being clogged and heart attacks and/or strokes may occur. However, the person can be saved if enough blood is drained and regular stroke and/or heart attack methods are used.

The gas affects plants a different way from humans. Instead of doing harm and wilting the plants, it's the exact opposite. Plants grow more lush and green, and produce spores/seeds/fruit in great numbers. Plants can reproduce faster than they do with regular CO2. It has been tested that if a bomb is dropped that contains the gas, plants regenerate nearly four times the rate than if they were to with a standard bomb.

The gas, when mixed with different elements in the periodic table (especially radioactive elements) it can be very reactive, and depending on the amount of the other element used, the gas can create a mini fire, or blow up an entire building. The gas is most reactive with any of the following: Uranium, Astatine and Francium.

Scientists have concluded that the gas itself is a new element in the world, and have given the substance the name, Carbitorium- a combination of carbon and the "tor," of Rad's full name, Radiator.

His gas also goes not affect many otherOrox-Trik. (There are some, but few who are effected.)

 Due to his toxic gas, the "vents" in his mouth often clog up with a tar/soot-like mixture.

 His gas mask actually helps prevent lots of clog up by sucking the gas out before it has time to create any buildup.

 He has asthma!

 His spinal crystals do not store any gas. They're always empty.

 His crystals are made up of Vesuvianite aka green idocrase. (Just look at how pretty it is!)

 When he's going to have human interaction or meet his"trainer," the scientists plug up the holes in his crystals so none of them get sick by inhaling the toxic gas! (Of course they wear gas
masks while doing this~)

 He is actually capable of human speech, but refuses to talk to anyone besides his "trainer."

•  Backstory

Rad was one of the first Orox-Trik to be created by the scientists in the original facility. He was part of a unit (Lynx) that was creating sub species of Orox-Trik, to expand beyond the domesticated house cat unit that was already showing positive results. However, an attack occurred in the neighbouring unit (Panthera) where a specimen got out of it's enclosure and killed a scientist. This was the start of the downfall that would stop the production of Orox-Trik.

In the Lynx unit, Rad was one of the smallest, if not the smallest specimen of the unit. He was constantly picked on for his size, and the toxic gas he produced. None of the other Lynx Orox-Trik produced even similar gas to what he did. Rad ended up thinking himself as a defect, and became an outcast. He broke his jaw during an obstacle course the specimens were forced to do, when another Lynx pushed him off the platform, onto the concrete below. The jaw didn't heal properly, thus he got his scarred and deformed face. He ended up breaking part of his crystal legs during the fall as well.

He started hating humans at this point as well, because he knew they saw him struggling, yet they never reached out to him and helped him. They set his jaw in place incorrectly, which ended up playing a part in his deformities.

The bullying only got worse (he didn't have his gas mask at the time, so others could easily see his scarred face.) The worse and worse it got, the more and more he began to fight back. At first it was just snappy retorts and comments, but it soon escalted to full fledged fights between him and the other Orox-Trik.

The bullying stoped when he shattered someone's leg.

Before the facility started destroying the Orox-Trik, another company, that was run and funded by the government reached out to the facility. They took many Orox-Trik away, to experiment with their gasses. Rad was one of the "lucky ones," and managed to survive the destruction of the species. The news didn't bother him, and in a way, he was glad.

They deserved it.

He was paired up with a human, for training purposes and domestication efforts. At first the two did not get alone. Rad's hatred of humans got out of hand many times, and the "trainer" was constantly told that it was useless and he should give up. The human was persistant to befriend the feline. The "trainer" often fed Rad lunch meat from his sandwhich, and gave rodents that were caught in mice traps to the feline.

"You only eat pellets and all that artificial food- you need something else; look how skinny you are!"

The two ended up becoming friends after a year or so, only after the "trainer" mentioned that he hated his job as well, and how he couldnt see the specimens be caged up like the way they are, and how he only stayed because the pay was good, that his brother got him the job, and how he didn't want to leave Rad behind. Rad was touched by this, and commented on it. After getting over the initial "holy fuck talking Lynx," the "trainer" and Rad started talking and discussing more. They often talk about leaving the facility together.
