Benjamin was born in Canalave City as an only child to a very wealthy shipping company owner. His family was well known throughout the community, and was devoutly religious. (This particular sect was considered very extreme and differed from the norm regarding its teachings.) Despite his father's dedication to his company, community, and church, he cared little for his family. Benjamin unfortunately did not fit the mold his father had dreamed of, and he was resented for this. He was subject to regular physical and mental abuse, and became a reclusive and quiet child. The shining light in his life was his mother, who loved him unconditionally and defended him from his father. When he was young, his mother became ill. So ill, in fact, that she was unable to get up from her bed most days. Due to their religious beliefs, treatment was not an option for her. As she became sicker, Benjamin's faith wavered. When he was 8, his mother passed away, shattering his world.

Early Life

As he got older the relationship between him and his father only worsened. The man blamed his son for his wife's death, and despised how small and effemminate his son was compared to the other boys his age. Benjamin had began to reject his faith alltogether and began to independetly research other denominations, desparate to find some semblance of truth. Despite trying to keep this to himself to avoid the ire of his father, his journal was found and he was promptly kicked out and disowned at the age of 16. With nowhere to go and a community that had turned their back on him, Benjamin had no choice but to pick up the pieces and continue on alone.

Finding Fame

With this cash in hand, he bought a ticket to Unova hoping for a fresh start. Life was difficult, and he spent many months jumping from shelter to shelter. Through a lucky break, he was able to get his first job as a barista and soon after a very run down apartment. While life was difficult, he was determined to make something of himself to spite his family. As time went on, found his first Pokemon (or his first Pokemon found him), a Dusclops he named Shadow. After that he went on to aquire his Solrock and Lunatone, who would later be his co-stars. Through pure determination and spite, he was able to wiggle his way into the contest scene, and learned to make his own costumes to save money.

He began to work on training his Solrock and Lunatone, and in time gained moderate success performing.Using his Pokemon's powers to give the illusion of it being him floating objects and even himself, he found a quick cult following. He was later scouted by Silas, a retired veteran performer who offered to fully sponsor and mentor him. Under Silas' wing alongside his new partner, Veronica Adams, he quickly found fame, success, and wealth.

Roadblocks

However, his new success would be short lived as he had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder at the age of 23. The flare up that got him diagnosed had him out for weeks, and he was forced to consider his life and career. Terrified of turning out like his mother, he began to take his health and diet very seriously. His particular disorder is well maintained and he takes regular medication for it. He lives a relatively normal life with little issues unless he has a flare up. (Unfortunately for him, stress is a huge trigger and Benjamin is always stressed.) To keep up appearances, he will usually work through any symptoms if he can. His illness is not public knowledge and he's trying to keep it that way. He hired a personal assistant, Casey, who helped him greatly grow his "brand" as well as dealing with things when he was sick. And also help him post things to social media... that's scary. He won't admit it, but he views Casey as a younger version of himself and is fiercely protective of them and happily provides anything they may need.

Persistance

With contest winnings, battle winnings, merch sales, social media, and more, Benjamin was able to fund an extremely lavish lifestyle. He prides himself in being extremely well dressed, as his appearance is extremely important to him. He's almost never caught dead outside of his home in casual wear. He keeps people at arms length, as he believes he will never be hurt if nobody gets close to him. This in turn, makes him even more misreable and lonely. He has a reputation amongst other coordinators as being... a huge fucking dick. He has worked hard to get where he is, but his pride in his achievements will often come off as arrogance instead. He has a very harsh view on newer contestants, and despises anyone who simply "shouts orders from the sideline." He puts a lot of effort into his craft and believes everyone else should do the same. NO FUN ALLOWED!

Benjamin puts a great deal of his self worth into how liked/useful he is to others. This also carries over to how he treats personal relationships on his end, usually opting to not bother with anyone who isn't useful to him/will further his career. Despite his pompous attitude Benjamin is actually quite the softie... if you get the chance to ever get to know him and break down his walls. Not many are willing to do this (for good reason.) However, as he meets Joshua who is ever determined, he is forced to reconsider how he's been treating others and he is suddenly NOT ready to shut out a potential new friend and suddenly being lonely really really sucks.

Current Day

In his free time, Benjamin devotes much of his time to the research of ancient Pokemon, especially Arceus and the creation trio. He also studies different religions and beliefs in hopes he can make sense of it all and find "the truth". When he's not scouring libraries and private collections, he's traveling to ruins or places of interest for some hands on research. With some well placed bribes and powerful psychic Pokemon, there aren't many places Benjamin can't explore and things he can't learn. Through his studies and career, he meets others who make him reconsider how he's been treating those around himself. He is currently dating Joshua, a man he met during his research. While they didn't get on well at first, they're almost inseparable now.

After a risky trip to Spear Pillar left him almost mauled to death by a Hisuian Zoroark, he is a bit more withdrawn and less confident. He keeps his neck, torso, and arms covered to hide the scars from the attack and refuses to speak to anyone but a select few about it.

• Alongside contest performances, Benjamin also plays Piano. He will occasionally play for orchestras or friend's events if asked very nicely.
• Benjamin hasn't spoken to any of his Biological family in 11 years and plans to keep it that way.
• Despite not being religious, he wears his mother's necklace with almost every outfit, which tends to send a mixed message.
• Benjamin is a huge foodie - has his own personal instagram account where he posts food pictures.
• Benjamin despises nicknames. Only a very few select individuals can use them
• Benjamin is scared of thunderstorms but will never admit
• He lives in a fully refurbished historic home on a very large plot of land. He takes a lot of pride in his home, and spends copius amounts of money on vintage furniture and yard decor.
• He drives a vintage Porsche 911 (F Model) that has custom detailing (and is purple!)
• First crush was the Phantom of the Opera
