His name was given as a bit of a joke, Instead of pursuing adventure or fortune he spend his days looking through libraries, searching for the knowledge held inside of books. "There he is!" they would say, "The hunter of tomes."
Tomes, finding that he had gone through the books available to him, left his home in search of a more varied and in depth collection of literature. His search eventually led him to the temple where he spent his days is study and quiet contemplation.
