Princess Leinani Scopulae is the only daughter of King Rostrum Ruler of the Changeling Kingdom and Queen Wikolia of the Ponynesian Islands. Lei loves the rich history, foods, and traditions of both her cultures. When visiting the Ponynesian Islands Leinani enjoys partaking in activities such as surfing, swimming, and soaking up the hot sun rays. When she visits the Changeling kingdom however, Leinani loves reading ancient text and learning more about the Changeling's complex history. Additionally, she absolutely loves eating traditional Changeling dishes; her favorite being Honeysuckle Cinnamon Cake. Leinani admires and appreciates all of her subjects and enjoys getting to know each and every one of them personally.

Design
• Has a changeling muzzle
• Her horn is curved and slightly longer than the average unicorn
• Has no fur; she is half bug-pony so instead of fur she has an exoskeleton

• Lei loves staying pysically active via surfing and has a secret love for fast flying sports/ competative racing.
• She has a pet owl named Destiny (nicknamed "Dezzy").
• Her favorite drink is chamomile tea with two spoonfuls of honey. Her favorite foods include honeycomb, dandelions, strawberry yogurt, and hibiscus nectar (respectively).
• Her most common hobbies include swimming, surfing, suntanning, yoga/self-reflection, and gardening.
• Dislikes squash, snail slime soup (a traditional Changeling delicacy), and CATERPILLARS.
Summary
Leinani was born far away from Equestria; southeast of the Dragon Lands, deep in the Celestial Sea, on a beautiful island which is known to very few inhabitants of the mainland. She was born on Ali'ikai, an island apart of a tropical paradise known as Ponynesia. Few creatures within the borders of Equestria know of this stunning place, as it is not marked on the Equestria map. Ponynesia is a small collection of islands (made up of approximately 180 islands). The majority of the islands are uninhabited by ponies due to many factors... but, there are 23 islands which thrive with pony life. And the largest island is Ali'ikai, the birthplace of Princess Leinani Scopulae and every other member of the Ponynesian royal family. Princess Leinani was deeply loved by her parents and her subjects. Changelings and Ponynesian ponies alike rejoiced at the birth of their new princess. However, there was a corrupt soul among the Ponynesian ponies who was... less than thrilled by the new addition to the royal family. Leinani's uncle Makaha was outraged by the birth of the princess. Prince Makaha is the first born of King Ikaika and Queen Corral Cove, therefore, he belived the thrown belonged to him and not his younger sister Wikolia; and certainly not the little *cockroach* Wikolia had just given birth to. Makaha was outraged by the new addition, he demanded justice... and he was willing to do anything to get it. So, Makaha came up with a wicked plan to rid himself and his people of the little princess pest while taking the thrown for himself in the process. Just weeks after her birth, Prince Makaha snuck into his sister's hut, stole the princess from her crib, and threw her in the ocean. As he watched the baby sink into the deep dark sea he knew he had gotten rid of the princess for good. However, the Ponynesian ponies have a very special connection with the islands, the sea, and the creatures which inhabit them; some might even say a magical connection. "Somehow", with some help, Leinani wound up all the way in Equestria and was found in a river on the outskirts of Dodge Junction, Equestria (known as "Dodge City" to locals). Ponies in Dodge Junction are simple farming folk. And though Princess Twilight Sparkle aims to educate creatures far and wide on friendship... that doesn't mean her teachings have reached every corner of Equestria. Canterlot, the Friendship Capitol of Equestria, is full of dragons, changelings, zebras, yaks, griffons, and hypogriffs. But folks in Dodge Junction have never seen nor heard of any of these creatures. Due to their insignificant location in the desert, few creatures (including other ponies) make the long journey to their country town. The "wildest" creature that's ever wandered into town is the occasional mule or donkey. These rare occurrences alone are enough to rattle the townsfolk to their very core. So, imagine their surprise when a half pony, half bug-pony creature shows up in their river; in their town.

Mother Leinani's biological mother and Queen of the Ponynesian island ponies. Queen Wikolia loves her little Pueo (her nickname for Lei) with all of her heart and she experienced great tribulation when her daughter was stolen from her. Wikolia is now overjoyed to have her beloved daughter back; and the Ponynesian ponies are thrilled to have their princess back as well. Wikolia is currently preparing Leinani to take over as the Queen of Ponynesia but, when she's not coaching her daughter on princess protocol, Wikolia loves showing her daughter the beautiful culture and history of the Ponynesian islands and ponies.
Father Leinani's biological father and ruler (King) of the Changeling Kingdom. Changelings have VERY strong family values, therefore, Rostrum loves his family more than anything or anycreature in Equestria and beyond. Changelings are usually (and prefer to be) quite peaceful creatures. However, after their princess was stolen from them, the Changelings scowered Equestria and beyond led by Captain of Changeling Defense Pharynx and former King Thorax. Though they never found their princess during their worldwide search, Leinani eventually returned to the Changeling hive and the bug-ponies rejoiced! Now, Rostrum teaches Leinani how to be Queen of the Hive while the Changelings teach Leinani about their rich history and traditions.
Father Leinani's adoptive papa, born and raised in Dodge Junction, Equestria. Rustic Landscape is a gentle giant with a deep love and admiration for his husband and children. Despite adopting Lei while she was in her alternate form, Rustic and Silk always knew "Huckleberry" was actually Leinani. They always have and always will love her for who she is. Rustic Landscape has a very close relationship with his daughter; he's the one who taught Lei how to garden and fostered her love of nature and plants. Rustic loves Leinani very much and appreciates the fact that (despite having timeconsuming princess duties now) she still makes time to garden with her Papa Bear.
Father Leinani's adoptive dad, born in Cloudsdale and raised all over Equestria. As a colt, Silk Sky was moved and raised all over Equestria due to his parents' jobs. Because of this fast paced lifestyle Silk was drawn to the exciting life of being a Wonderbolt from a young age. Unfortunately, this dream would never come to fruition due to the severe wing injury he sustained in his early twenties. Rustic helped him heal from said injuries and he quickly knew that a future with Rustic Landscape was his new dream. For the first time in his life settling down and starting a family sounded like a dream come true. Silk Sky loves both of his children very much and though his job as the Mayor of Cloudsdale keeps him very busy, he greatly appreciates slowing down for a moment and spending time with his husband and children. Silk Sky has a deep love for the fine arts and fashion so of course Silk Sky adored supporting Lei during her time on Bridleway and went to as many performances as possible. Alot of Leinani's fashion sense comes from her daddy and one of their favorite traditions is attending the Grand Galloping Gala together and rating thier favorite gowns of the evening.
Brother Leinani's adoptive older brother, born in Canterlot and raised in Cloudsdale. Healing Hearts was adopted by Rustic and Silk as a newborn foal. He was loved beyond belief but did not enjoy being a single child. Thankfully, when Hearts was 6, Leinani came into his life and he vowed to be the best big brother ever. Healing Hearts and Lei have an extremely close relationship. HH even got his cutiemark by cleaning up a scratch his little sis got on the playground. Though his parents knew "Huckleberry" was only an alternate Changeling magic form, Hearts never knew what his sister really was or what she looked like. When he first found out about Leinani's true form he felt betrayed and lied to; like he didn't even know who his sister was anymore. However, with time, he and Lei rekindled their relationship and now they're closer than ever.
