The Abandoned
Novak was abandoned by the gates of the bandit side of the Shady peaks gang. His mother dropped him there and never returned. The small cub wandered into the lands, watching as the bandits stole food from town. Hungry, and with nowhere else to go, He decided to follow in their pawsteps, and tried to teach himself how to steal.
It was a tough beginning, but with his persistence and motivation, the young cub found himself slowly getting by. He managed to befriend a Lynx by the name of Elsi, Who became a somewhat older sibling figure to Novak. She would often look out for him, so he'd look out for her too. She was the first feline Novak would tell about anything he learnt. He soon was able to keep himself fed, if only a little. He lived out his whole life until his early adulthood in this pride.
One day, the pride seemed to be buzzing with tension. The pride was disbanding, and this had caused quite a bit of a ruckus within the young male bandits in the pride. As Novak was prepairing to get ready to leave with Elsi to a new residencey, he was attacked by one of these pent up brutes. They scrapped, but the other male had the uper hand, and soon Novak found himself tumbling down the rocky slopes of the disbanded lands, landing in the river which swept him easily down stream.
From Tunnels to Farmlands
The river had tossed him around, before dipping into the earth, sending him sprawling into one of the underground tunnels at the base of the Frostfall Mountains. With no way to climb back out of the cave, the young male was forced to trudge onwards, deep into the earth. Having to rely on his other senses then his eyes was a tough thing to learn, and he was lucky to find a few moles and meerkats down there, or he was certain he would've starved. Eventually, after a month or two, he finally found an exit point, and managed to climb back out into the light. Finding a pool nearby, he realised that the other bandit had scared his face greatly, to the point that his eye couldn't open fully anymore. He had to shrug it off, as he was in unfamilair lands. He quickly left the cave, and found a small abandoned building to reside in.
When morning broke through, Novak decided it was time to research these lands he had now found himself in. The lands where flat, with some places having the same looking thing growing in it. Human activity, although all around him, was rather scarce. There were buildings, but most of them where abandoned, and some of the fields hadn't been cared for for centuries. But luckily for Novak, there was one place that he found which caused him to stay. Near the edges where there was still a bit of human activity, there was a field that had these white, fluffy clouds in it. the clouds, although very noisy, where packed to teh brim with meat, that Novak found himself killing one that would last him days. It was so easy to get food. And soon, he managed to bulk up to a healthier weight then what he had ever been before.
Years went by, With Novak living his rather cushy, but lonely life style. It had only been very recently that the humans seemed to be noticing him stealing from the flock, as when he went out to grab a meal for the newxt few days he was shot. Pain seared in his shoulder, causing him to drop the sheep and blindly run away. Another bang and his flank flared up in pain. He pushed through it, however, and ran as far as he could away. He could feel blood dripping from his shoulder, and decided that going back to his abandoned hut was a bad idea. He decided to run away from that even, and fled south, towards the thick trees of the jungle. he collapsed once he was inside, panting and in pain. Luckily, it appeared that whatever hit him had simply grazed past him, but they still bleed and stung as if it had actually landed inside his muscle. He decided to reside in the area for a bit, until he was healed up enough to continue going south, away from human interaction all together.
The Return
After he healed enough from the bullet wounds, he decided that the lands, although plentiful, where simply too dangerouns now. He slowly made his way away from the plentiful lands he had resided in for the past for years. After traveling for a few days, he soon noticed the familar peaks of the Frostfall mountains. It turned out he hadn't been too far from home after all.
Now back in familair lands, Novak decided to camp out near the mountains. Who knows, maybe he'd find a friendly, or even a familair face there?
