| About The protagonist, a tired college student (fine arts major). He comes from a small town, and his family are Monster Hunters. He, however, has no interest in the family career and just wants to set-up his own art studio one day. Just as fate would have it, he ends up roommates with a monster boy by the name of Marcel. |
PERSONALITY
Leo is rebellious and independent, and his general attitude screams of not caring about anything in particular. In reality, he's just a kid that tries and fails to be cool. He cares about many things, but is awkward when it comes to expressing his feelings, or being attuned to others' feelings. He isn’t the type to be led by his emotions, although sometimes he will do what he wants without contemplating the consequences. Leo can be blunt at times but that isn’t to say that he actively tries to be rude. In fact, he tries to maintain an acceptably civil front, simply not being one to sugar-coat his words. He has a dry, sardonic sense of humor, and frequently appears to be tired of life. He chooses not to dwell too much on distressing things.
Leo is inherently a compassionate person, and he would never turn away a troubled friend. On the other hand, if someone who constantly offended him were in trouble, he would be quite gleeful to see them perish. He might even throw in a couple of punches himself. His personal philosophy is “I’ll be nice to you if you’re nice to me.”
HISTORY
Past
Leo was born as the second oldest son in an established family of monster hunters, the Cazares. While he attended school like any normal child, he was also trained in how to defend himself from monsters by his parents. Leo enjoyed this secret life, and reveled in the fact that he seemed to have some super special destiny that set him apart from the other children, without fully comprehending the true perils that came with his family's line of work.
However, when Leo was 10 years old, he was attacked and nearly killed by a werewolf while he was out trick-or-treating with his older brother. His parents, desperate to save his life brought out an ancient family heirloom: a jade pendant that was said to be a gift from a grim reaper to one of the first Cazares. Leo died from his wounds by the jade pendant brought him back to life. While Leo recovered physically (and was thankfully not turned into a werewolf), his view of the world of monsters was never the same. He began to despise the special destiny that came with his family name, once he saw how wrought with perils it was.
To escape from his overbearing parents and older sibling, he moved out when he turned 18 to attend an art school in a city on the opposite end of the country. Despite his desire for a normal life, he couldn't escape the Hunter's Association that his family was part of, thus he was occasionally tasked with dispatching monsters that popped up in his area, much to his own reluctance.
Present
Leo winds up becoming roommates with a monster boy by the name of Marcel in a completely random turn of events, for Marcel had been hiding in his rented apartment from a couple of monster hunters. As Leo had never met the other individual he was renting the apartment with in person, he mistook Marcel for his new roommate. Coincidentally, his actual roommate ended up murdered in a ditch somewhere by a mysterious entity.
Eventually Leo discovers the truth, but is reluctantly to hurt or kill Marcel for he believes the young monster to be harmless. He allows Marcel to stay under the condition that he will disguise himself as a human as necessary. Thus begins their idyllic life together.

The Jade Pendant
Leo's jade pendant can resurrect him each time he dies, as long as he is wearing it when he dies. However, it does so by simply healing the fatal wound. Non-fatal injuries, no matter how serious, will not be healed. If he lost an arm and died of blood loss, the pendant will simply bring his body back with enough blood and stop the excessive blood loss, but his arm would still be gone. If, on the other hand, he happened to lose the entire lower half of his body, he would be brought back with the lower half of his body completely intact, since that was determined to be the cause of death.
The resurrection effect of the pendant will only kick in when it determines that he is removed from the "cause of death". For example, if he died from a spear to the heart, it will only resurrect him after the spear is removed from his heart. But the "judgment" of the pendant is never entirely accurate. If he were to die when he is being eaten alive by a monster, the pendant would resurrect him anyway, even though he'd just die again from being eaten alive.
Trivia
- His full name is Leopold but he will punch anyone that calls him that.
- He dyed his hair and eyebrows pink on a dare while he was drunk, but liked the look after he sobered up, so he decided to keep it.
- He likes to adopt random stray animals and hide them in his apartment, which definitely does not allow pets. He also has a tendency of adopting random stray monsters, but much less willingly.
- He likes street art and avant-garde indie music.
- He doesn't like horror movies because his life is already a horror movie.
