Russet's yellow cheek has the power to produce a golden apple, which has healing qualities. His orange cheek produces a "poison" apple, which gives one food poisoning upon consumption.

I did some research to try and come up with the perfect name. I found that Russet was a type of apples and also a shade of reddish brown which was absolutely perfect considering his coloration and theme.
