I got Redfur deciding between several possibilities and themes, the others being RedRain or RustRain. Redfur seemed the most concise of all of them and was obviously suitable so I chose this one.

Redfur lived in a den, very close to a human neighborhood, in an open field. On one side were large looming cliffs, behind it in the distance were wheat fields. On the other side was a large lake, and in the other surrounding areas was dense forest. One day, a puppy rolled down the hill from the backyard of one of the houses in front of her den. Curiously she went to meet him, and they played together. They clicked well together, and the puppy, Pet, would often come to play with her. They grew up together and spent a lot of time together. Redfur was beginning to like this dog, he was her best friend. One day when she was older, Redfur met another wolf named Keel. He complimented her, said she was the most beautiful wolf he had ever seen. Pet was very modest and reserved and so didn’t really give her many compliments, so she was not used to this and was quite flattered. Keel would often come visit her and hang out with her. As they spent more time together, Keel asked Redfur to be his mate. He seemed like a kind, confident, strong wolf and she had enjoyed the time they had been spending together. And so she agreed. Everything was going well, but Keel sometimes would be manipulative of Redfur. But she would often get over it quickly, and they stayed together. One day Redfur saw Keel with another wolf, and determined that Keel had been cheating on her. She was heartbroken, and ran to the lake and collapsed on the bank. She didn’t know what to do. She looked up and saw Pet. Pet slowly approached her and sat down, not saying anything. She quickly realized what she had done, she hadn’t been spending any time at all with Pet since she was with Keel, especially since Keel didn’t like her spending time with friends. Her heartbreak still raw, she laid everything on Pet, telling him everything. Pet didn’t say anything but was listening carefully and reacting appropriately with his facial expressions. A few days later, Redfur seemed to be almost back to her normal cheerful self, and told Pet to come with her. She took Pet on a little adventure to test his affection. The night they returned home, they went for a swim together and Redfur announced her intentions of testing him on their journey, and asked Pet to be her mate. Pet couldn’t refuse of course, Redfur was his best friend. So they were mates and lived happily together, in the crevice of a nearby cliff. They lived together for a long time, until Redfur wanted a change of scenery. They made a long journey to search for a new place to live, and finally came to a beach, and decided it was romantic and perfect. From then on they lived in a beach cave. Eventually, when the time was right, Redfur and Pet decided to have pups together, and raised them there in their new home.
