Profile

Geroge Westenra - 27, December 29, 1838 - male - sheriff of Tumbleweed

He is the sheriff of Tumbleweed and a mighty good one at that. His deputy is Shane "Cougar" Donahue. Together they make a fierce some pair of lawmen and work hard to rid their town of outlaws and criminals. Despite being a hardened lawman, George has always had a soft side for dogs. One year on George's birthday Shane got him a puppy. George raised and trained the puppy to become his faithful companion and fellow lawdog.

His horse is Two-Guns

He was shot in the arm by Emmett Kelley, which is why he has to wear a sling. Being lefthanded he had to learn how to shoot with his right arm until his wound heals. He barely has any feeling in his left arm or hand. His doctor told him to try something that would require him to use his left hand to see if the fedling would come back at all. George took this as an opportunity to start playing the guitar. He had one specially made for him and he loves it. He is now a pretty confident guitar player. He sometimes plays duets with Shane who plays the fiddle.

His pendant belonged to his mother who gave it to him as she was dying. A young 6 year old George and his mother were walking home from the general store one day after buying groceries and George was whistling a happy tune that made his mother smile. As they started to cross the street out of nowhere came a group of outlaws who started shooting up a storm. George's mother immediately covered her son with her body to protect him from the bullets. The sheriff seeing George and his mother trapped in the street ran out and got them to saftey behind a nearby shed. That's when George realized that his mother had been shot abd was badly bleeding. The sheriff tried to stop the bleeding and did his best to save her but it was no use, she was dying. George's mother took his hands in hers and pressed the pendant into his palm. Her last words to her son were, "Don't let rage overcome you, be you." With that she closed his hand around the pendant and took her last breath. It was all too much for George to take in so he just sat there holding the pendant to his heart where his mother had guided it. The sheriff stayed with him abd by then the town's deputies had dealt with the outlaws. The sheriff knew George and his mother for a long time (he had asked George's mother to mary him several times but was gently turned down on each occasion) so he knew that George was now an orphan. As one last selfless act for the love of his life (George's mother) he took little George in and raised him into a fine young man. These events are what led George to become a lawman.

He weilds an 1860 Spencer Repeating Rifle from the civil war given to him by the sheriff who raised him.
