Grace

Origins:

Grace is the daughter of one of Emerald's closest friends. Her mother, Tiana and her grandmother were maids in service of Queen Sakimiya, and Tiana was the only girl of similar generation as the princess in the castle, even at 12 years older. Her bloodline was of a waning one, barely able to be considered one of the Magi clan. So, when Grace showed a great talent for spellcasting in her youth, her parents capitalized on that, trying to get her the best resources as was possible with their limited resources. 

Conflicts and opportunities arose for the Davis family when Grace was 9. Emerald saddled the family with a pair of who she claimed were orphaned twins, barely weeks old. With a hefty sum of cash, and a promise that Grace would be allowed entry to Areshia Academy when she was old enough, they were ordered to take the twins and leave immediately, silently, and most importantly, no questions asked. 

And thus began Grace's life in Kalos, a land where she could not perform magic, and her other abilities waned to the point of near uselessness. Her parents assured her it was temporary, and that it would be restored once she returned to Yuelin. Still, between her parents' high expectations, and her own fear of failure, she threw herself into studies of magic theory. Six years flew by, one of which she spent challenging gyms across Kalos, and she alone was invited back to Yuelin. 

Emerald however, could not keep her promise of admitting her to Areshia Academy, as the region's top academy had gone up in flames not months earlier. Instead, she was sent to Agris Academy-- still prestigious, but not among the best. Emerald had correctly predicted that the entire capital would be destroyed soon, and it was, six months later, with Team Shadow cementing their own rule in the new capital of Agris City. 

She did well in her classes, advancing four years over only two, and the summer before her graduating year, she was invited by Emerald to join the Aura Guardians-- an invitation for herself and two friends. She didn't have many friends since leaving Kalos, only acquaintances-- the only people she knew fairly well were Frey and Gil, two similarly advanced students. Naturally, she nominated them to join the Aura Guardians along with her. At first, Titania was reluctant to allow children to join-- she'd already made exceptions for the siblings of current members Ryan and Amaryllis-- but she was sufficiently impressed by their abilities on a practical exam against a group of bandits.

Personality:

A small girl with great ambitions lost in the greater expectations of others. While she does find passion in studying magic, especially in integrating magic and technology, much of her goals are not her own-- they were set upon her by her parents, friends, or other important people in her life.
