Arthur Dracula

On the surface, Arthur is a very calm individual. While that doesn't mean he isn't going to panic during a fire, he tries to maintain his composure and come up with a plan. Arthur isn't a very impulsive person and most things that he does do is well thought out prior. He's friendly and happy to help wherever he can and accidentally maintains an attidude of being... a little too nosey sometimes when he thinks something is amiss. Since Arthur is rather eccentric, he's used the jokes and often laughs off jabs aimed at his expense.

While Arthur seems calm on the surface, he still has his own emotional baggage. Arthur often worries if the jabs and jokes others make are really honest interpretations of himself. He struggles with anxiety and depression and has been working on his percieved low self worth. He has a tendency to put others first, believing he is not worth his own time. He has a hard time letting people in, often willing to push others away then possible scare them away with his problems. While he has his faults, Arthur is very loyal to the students and their safety and would put himself at risk to make sure they are okay.

Arthur's childhood is rather difficult. Arthur was born to a vastly powerful lord and lady and well respected Vampirs within the clan of their area. As such, Arthur was held to high standard both among humans as well as mainting their heritage as vampirs. Arthur maintains that while his childhood was rough due to differences in morality, his parents did hold a deep love for their son. It just.. wasn't enough to gap the difference between them.

Arthur was constantly battling his parents over heritage and what it meant to be a predator. His dad once held high standards that his son would be a cold, smart, and firm vampire such as himself. Arthur, however, was emotional, empathetic, and refused to partake of any sort of hunting- going so far as to even refuse to ingest blood. In his words, we may have been born hunters but that doesn't mean I want to be the monster everyone thinks I am. The two were constantly butting heads as Arthur's father was firm that Humans were food. Nothing more while Arthur wanted to befriend humans and live among them causing his father to deem his dreams as playing with his food. Arthur's morality's involving killing and eating caused a wedge deep between his family and when he was old enough to be on his own and defending his points of views with little hesitation, he was removed from his family home and disowned from his parents.

He has attempted to fix this gap with his parents with little success. The last time he attempted to text his father happy father's day he got a cold text that "I am not a father. My son is dead". Arthur attempted to reach out to his mom but was met with silence. They have yet to be on any sort of speaking terms.

Living on his own with no sort of safety net was hard for Arthur. He had to constantly hide from the sun, avoid meat (as it often caused a deep primal desire for blood), hide his fangs, and act... well normal. At his parents home and growing up, his father would be able to defend young Arthur's secret from getting out. But here, if his secret slipped he was sure to attract hunter- whether he was vegetarian or not. It was him and Vlad against the world and Arthur struggled to find his place at first. Though help found its way when he was able to defend a young boy from being hunted by claiming Territory with the hunting vampire. Lying his way to saving a life, Arthur claimed he was the boy's new teacher, and as such having a human corpse on his first day would possibly out Arthur as a vampire.

With the lie in place, Arthur now had to fulfill his lies to keep his secret. He interviewed, and perhaps hypnotised, his way into working as a local tutor for the children. While he was considered eccentric by the townsfolk, Arthur was rather liked for his keen intellect but down to earth attitude. Arthur, in his spare time, also taught the younger and more down on their luck children how to read and it was here that he would meet his wife Agnese. Smitten by Arthur's attitude and generocity, Agnese wanted to learn more about the isolated tutor. Making it her mission, Agnese began to spend more and more time with Arthur until the two of them were close friends. It was here that Arthur made the mistake of letting his secret slip. Agnese was terrified at first learning that Arthur wasn't human but soon came to terms with it when she learned that he wasn't like your typical blood thirsty count.

With Arthur's secret know, the two began a romantic relationship which soon blossomed into a happy marriage. While Arthur recalls being infatuated with Agnese and vice versa, their love wasn't meant to last. They had far too different dreams. Agnese wanted to have a family and grow old. She didn't want to spend an eternity fighting cravings and hiding from the light. Arthur, on the other hand, didn't want to have children. While he could control himself and his desires, he didn't want to bring in a possible vampire in this world and feel the weight of their choices on himself. He, also, was unable to grow old and didn't want to spend eternity alone. While the two tried desperatly to move past their differences, it was far too much and their marriange descended into arguments, resent, and bitterness until it dissolved.

Alone once more, Arthur made it his mission to keep himself gaurded. He moved from town to town, country to country, and state to state frequently. When someone displayed an interest in getting to know him better, especially romantically, Arthur moved quick and with little left to say. This isn't to say he wasn't kind. Arthur would always be empathetic to others. He held, although not close, friendly relationships and worked hard to take care of his students. He just wasn't prepared to let anyone in. Forging documents was certainly a struggle in the beginning, but with more practice Arthur was able to move from place to place with ease and "proper" papers to back up his lies.

Despite being given countless chances to experience history front hand, Arthur often remarks that he missed most special historical moments often because "I fell asleep". In the moment, these things didn't seem large to the vampire and he does deeply regret missing them. He missed the discovery of America because he was on vacation. He sadly missed the baracades of France because he had been trying to learn the flute and was out of country when it all came to a head. And he missed the shot heart round the world, the Treaty of Versailles, Formation of the League of Nations, the completion of the Panama Canal, the Election of John F. Kennedy, the moon landing, and others because he had made the mistake of sleeping in that day.

Arthur decided to back to school and work for a Ph.D in psychology, figuring he should re-educate himself with the times (suprisingly, the world is not flat!). With his degree in hand, Arthur decided to stay within the education system where he could extend his territory to not only the students but to the faculty and families as well. He currently works as High School Guidance counsuleor where he takes a lot of pride in his work and dedicates his free time to various humanitarian missions. He still lives alone but has made peace with the fact he has Vladimir for company. He is... as content as he can be.

Arthur's best friend since childhood. Growing up on his parent's farm was hard for Arthur and he was constantly in trouble for getting attached to the animals. When his parents wouldn't listen to him, he did the unthinkable and turned Vladamir so they wouldn't be able to kill him. His father was furious and tending after the vampire rabbit became Arthur's sole responsibility, which was very hard in the beginning. The two are very close.

Lord and Lady Dracula when Arthur called them mother and father, Arthur is not close at all with his parents. Last he heard, his father was a reputable surgeon. But that was atleast a decade ago. He still holds a lot of respect for them even if they won't return his calls.

Arthur's best friend. The two met on accident after Scott attended a school event. The discovered they had a lot in common and have been hanging out on and off. Arthur is aware Scott is living in his backyard and was originally upset he wasn't asked but has come to terms with it.

Arthur's other best friend after taking in the Salamander as a favor to Edgar. He's got him up to date with the latest trends, slang, and technology. And of course, the Blast Bajas at Del Taco. Arthur cares a lot for his friend and is helping him work through his low self esteem.

Arthur's protegee on the way of being a proper Vampir! Or atleast that's what Arthur thinks. He wants to help Fletcher any way he can and often takes responsibility when the young vampire messes up. He can't help himself, his empathy is a little overbearing so he feels he has to watch out for Fletcher, even if he's perfectly capable of handling himself.

Arthur has had the pleasure of meeting young Flynn when he was helping with the English class. His optimistic attitude is part of the reasons why Arthur likes listening to and having Flynn in class; even though he wishes he would pay more attention. Though he is rather amazed by how smart the young werewolf is!

Despite his unlucky streak, Arthur does enjoy having Murphy around, even if its at a bit more distance that other students. Outside of the constant chaos, Arthur enjoys Murphy's can do attitude and often pipes in with his own wisdom when able. However, as much as he enjoys having Murphy around the constant streaks of bad luck can be very draining on the rather slow going vampir.

Arthur usually has no idea what is happenig with his students and tends to go with the flow, even if a new one shows up looking exactly like another student but with a whole different persona. While he can be a little disruptive and occasionally rude- he does get a good laugh out of Arthur from time to time and Arthur does like having Flint in class.

• Due to Arthur's refusal to a blood diet, he has a rather large iron defiency which he combats by taking iron supplements and eating iron rich foods.
• With Arthur's refusal to give into his Blood Lust, he has lost control of it completely. His fangs no longer appear normally on him and he can no longer extend them at will. Likewise, when Arthur ingests any amount of blood, it can trigger his frenzy state which he can no longer control. As a result, he refuses to let any sort of blood come near him.
• Arthur still has other vampiric abilities but they are weakened.
  • His speed and strength can be very draining on him physically.
  • Along with that, Arthur can no longer completely hypnotise someone. Instead, his hypnosis is more of a very strong suggestion and typically only succeeds when the person he is using it on already has a desire to do it.
  • Arthur can still turn into a bat but has a hard time flying and cannot maintain the form for too long before he becomes completely exhausted.
• While Arthur himself maintains a strict vegetarian diet, he does not force the same views onto Vladimir. Vladimir, although a rabbit, often hunts smaller prey such as rats, mice, and ocassionally other rabbits. Its stressful on Arthur but he made this bed so...
• Since Arthur turned Vladimir himself, the two can communicate non verbally and through thoughts. Arthur wishses Vladimir wouldn't watch so much TV as its not only rotting his brain but the language is a lot to deal with...
