A competitive freerunner, Yards is a new rising talent and one of the few female runners in her team, she is well known for her riskier vaults and wall tricks.

Much calmer and level-headed than the rest of the Phoenixes, Yards is the team’s designated caring big sis. She’s usually the one doing damage control when the rowdiness gets out of control. Doing her best to pretend her brother doesn't exist.

History

Yards has had much of her life dominated by circumstances that were out of her control. Things used to be comfy until the disappearance of her parents from their household. She was only eleven when this happened, and the sudden change in her life was confusing and terrifying.

Whilst her older brother, Miles, dropped out of education in favour of finding a job to bring in money, Yards continued attending school, pretending to live on like everything was normal. Her brother was fortunate enough to get lucky with freerunning races, and although Yards was constantly worried about Miles' own wellbeing, she was relieved that he'd found a source of fun amongst his desperate hustling.

As much as Yards wanted to join her brother and begin running, Miles insisted that she stayed in education to better prepare herself for the future. Feeling that her brother wanted her to make the most of her time in school when he couldn't, she wasn't able to say no.

Despite this, as Yards made her way through high school and university, she secretly plotted to train herself in preparation for the time she would be able to join the sport. While she couldn't covertly attend any freerunning clubs, she did join track and field teams instead, participating in as many races as she reasonable could whilst balancing her studies.

Career

Yards only began running professionally fairly recently. She was only able to sign up to a freerunning team after graduating from university, specifically eyeing team RISING PHOENIX. Yards quietly joined the team behind her brother's back, knowing he would flip out on her (and oh boy he really did once he found out).

Through sheer persistence, she managed to snatch the position of a main runner for the team just in time for the Northern Lights qualifiers. While not entirely enthused about participating in a televised event, deep inside she's excited to have the chance to run alongside her brother in a competition that she knows means a lot to him.
