Shinashi shares both physical and characteristic traits of a shark. the most notable and prevalent feature is his mouth, which is full of uneven razor sharp teeth and has a bite force that can surpass even a great white itself. however, due to Shinashi’s small/weak frame and lack of stamina, he cannot use this full potential of power unless he’s in a frenzy mode. this is where the main abilities of his quirk comes into play
the sight, smell, taste, or sometimes even mere thought of blood/pain makes him become frenzied with desire and excitement, to the point of panting, salivating and making animalistic noises. most of the time he can control these instinctual urges, but when he can’t suppress it, his mouth enlarges to an unnatural size as more rows of teeth extend/protrude against his will and his pupils dilate, making his iris’ almost completely white. he does not have much control over what happens when he’s in a complete frenzy mode, and will hurt anyone or anything (even allowing himself to be hurt) to chase the high he gets from causing carnage. this means his body is covered in scars due to the countless fights he’s gotten in (often purposefully)
Extra Information:
- heals from external wounds fast, though remains completely exhausted for a long period after going into a frenzy mode since he over exerts his stamina
- gets excited from pain, even though he finds it troublesome (has very odd kinks)
- openly perverse and shameless
- rude and blunt, doesn’t think before he speaks at all
- voice sounds husky and strained, with a tired drawl and humorous undertone. it also cracks occasionally because of the strain and he’ll opt to just not speak on the days his voice is particularly bad
- will sometimes “blank” and stare into space, even dozing/snoozing with his eyes open for short periods
- excellent swimmer for someone so small and weak, can hold his breath underwater longer than the average human and oddly , does not have a threatening presence to most smaller marine life
- when he floats on his back in water or forcefully held in a specific way on land, he goes into a trance like state just like a shark does, becoming docile and pliable. this is an effective way to subdue him if he’s out of control
- eyes roll back into his head involuntarily sometimes when he eats or fights, and just like it is with sharks, it’s a sub conscious form of protecting vulnerable body parts. it can be extremely unnerving to see since he usually has to forcefully blink his eyes back to normal each time it happens, and he’s not always successful on the first try
- oddly quiet when moving, this is a bonus of the quirk as it helps him hide efficiently after he’s blacked out and needs to get away from crime scenes
- good at navigating through new places, this also helps when he needs to escape from someone/something and lay low in unfamiliar surroundings
- isn’t very remorseful and holds a lot of hate/resentment towards people. he‘s learned not to have sympathy or empathy for others, so actively hurting innocent lives doesn’t keep him up at night. he knows he can’t and probably never will be able to suppress his quirk, so he just goes with the flow despite the brutality of it all
- tends to feel like most people look down on him (quite literally lol) and it fuels his resentment. though he knows he’s being ridiculous about it because most people don’t pay close attention to who or what he is to even care enough in the first place. but maybe deep down he secretly wishes they did pay more attention to him, he’s lonely after all
- had a very rough childhood, his parents/guardians didn’t treat him kindly because of his differences to other “normal” children. growing up in a rural coastal area where quirks are extremely rare compared to the big cities/accepting societies meant that he was seen as a monstrous abomination to everyone else. he became a major target of abuse for years due to their fear and disgust
- mistaken for being a lot younger than he actually is, so he takes advantage of it whenever the situation calls for it (such as blending in with a group of students on a school trip)
