About: Piltover has seen its share of scientist rising and falling from fortune and progress. One brilliant man named Kostiago fell to a similar fate, but ended up becoming more monster than man, stalking within the lowest levels of Zaun.

Kostiago was a normal man with a curious nature and a brilliant mind. He was a well-respected scientist within the Piltovan society until he grew too curious about the underground markets in Zaun. He learned of the many strange substances that were produced within Zaun’s under levels and wanted to utilize them for the better. However, his efforts were constantly rejected and he was forbidden from meddling with Chemtech and anything else like it, but Kostiago’s intentions were good and he was willing to do anything for his noble cause.

Without funding or proper test subjects, Kostiago worked in secret, utilizing self-experimentation with the dangerous chemicals he was banned from using in Piltover. These experiments on himself caused a huge rift in his personality and in how he began to look. With every experiment his skin slowly deterioted, and in a last ditch effort to save himself, he attempted to soak himself in a vat full of a special serum that was supposed to help regenerate his skin. Unfortunately, the opposite happened, leaving him as a horrible acidic goop with bones floating around inside the hazmat suit he was wearing. Over time, he modded the suit to fit his needs and allowed him to move more freely, as well as manipulate the dangerous chemicals his body was now made from. When he was still somewhat sane, he attempted to experiment with 'volunteers' pulled off the streets of Zaun in order to find a way to reverse his condition — but slowly all sanity melted away and his victims were no longer captured for experiments, but for merely for the sake of watching them die. A once respected man with a noble heart was now turned into the murderous serial killer known as Kostik, the Acid Death. He lives within the lowest depths of Zaun, particularly in the Sump Level. He still operates in a run down facility that he calls his “laboratory” and still kept some mannerisms from when he was more human.
