Minerva is a vampire who didn’t have any specific goal at first. She kept most of her personality from her past life, mainly being pure, innocent & naive. Unfortunately, she’s also insensitive to other people’s sufferings and because of her past life, she’s slightly spoiled. Minerva used to be a lot more fearful & paranoid, but as she spent more time traveling with Demiurge, she learned to be more bold & more assertive. On top of that, her being a paranormal investigator with Demiurge caused her to be more careful around people. Despite this, she is still a little lost and doesn’t fully know who she is.

Innocence

Minerva was always seen as someone that was innocent, mainly because she had absolutely no involvement in the Greyfords’ business even if she was part of the family. Even in her current life, a lot of people look at her and assume she’s innocent.

Insensitivity

Unfortunately, not having seen anything from the outside world causes Minerva to be very insensitive to people’s sufferings. She cannot understand why they feel the way they do and will sometimes suggest solutions that won’t work, mainly because she never had these problems.

Spoiled

Previously being a princess, Minerva can still be spoiled at times, She especially gets picky about the food she eats, refusing to drink blood or eating raw flesh because she “has standards”. It can sometimes be hard to please her because of this.

Fearfulness

With her almost getting trapped in the Alice in Wonderland book forever, Minerva tends to be fearful of people around her even if they can seem nice. The only person she can fully trust is Demiurge, but she tries to get over this by trusting her friend’s other companions.

Brief Boldness

Traveling with Demiurge caused Minerva to have a spine…briefly. She’s too careful to cause trouble everywhere, but if she knows confidence will get her something, Minerva will be bold for just long enough for her to get what she wants. Other than that, she’s still mostly a scaredy cat.

Carefulness

Investigating the paranormal is serious business. Minerva has to be careful so that she doesn’t get screwed over by whatever being she’s trying to investigate with Demiurge. She already had to be careful around people anyway, so this isn’t new to her.

About

No memory of who she was

A very lost soul dwelled around the universe for a while, but landed in Aephiria. More precisely, in the very…wet region of Aquaphonte, a bright underwater area that allows anyone to live without needing gills. Surprised to be still living after the brutality of her death, Minerva explored the region she was in for a while, completely lost. Not having done much in her previous made her clueless as to what to do next.

All she knew was that her name was Minerva Greyford, and that she was previously a princess of a kingdom that fell after someone’s death. But whose?

Not knowing what to do, Minerva lurked all around Aquaphonte while looking for a goal in life. Not many people knew who she really was, but they all thought she was simply a lost ghost who was looking for a way to escape the world.

Last seen: Equinox Library

On a calm night, Minerva sought a place to stay, as she knew no one and was never taught how to befriend people. Fortunately for her, a mysterious man gave her a sign to follow him. Not knowing any better, she followed him to an alley that led to a library. Even if the sign said closed, the man had somehow found a second entry…that was surprisingly open. Once inside the library, Minerva was greeted with endless shelves filled with books.

She saw the mysterious man pointing to a very specific book: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Minerva was completely unsure as to why the man wanted her to look at the book in the first place. She tried to look for him, only to see him gone. Was that an illusion?

Minerva opened the book to see what was special about it, as she had never read the story at all. A light blinded her, and the next thing she saw was a hall with many locked doors of all sizes. She was now in the book, and there was no way out.

The rules have been changed

Going from lost in real life to lost in a world, Minerva’s state of mind didn’t change much: she was still disoriented. She finds a bottle on a table that says drink me. Not knowing any better, Minerva drank the bottle. It was supposed to turn her smaller, but it somehow gave her the ability to freely change sizes instead.

Thus, Minerva had the opportunity to explore every possible door using that new ability. Some of the things she found included gardens, empty rooms, forests. Most importantly, she found the mysterious man who guided her to the world through one of the bigger doors. Minerva asked him why he dragged her into the book. There was no answer…

The mysterious purple demon with the pigtails

And so, Minerva continued to explore the world she found herself in while getting instructions from the man. Instructions that said: “Do not trust anyone you see, especially not if they are wearing pigtails. They hide the truth in them.”

That sounded a little absurd, even to Minerva, but he was the only person who knew anything about the world who wanted to interact with her, so she had no choice but to trust him. While going to the several events in the book, she did notice a few people with pigtails and tried avoiding them.

But, unfortunately, everyone who participated in the tea party all had pigtails. And, that made Minerva very nervous. Although…the person who was seated on her right was being really nice to her. It was a demon in purple with piercing yellow eyes, but despite that, she seemed like she knew a lot more about this book than she should.

Still weirded out about the whole situation, but very curious to learn more about the demon, Minerva tried spying on her even if the man was clearly not happy about this turn of events.

An unlikely team

The demon found out about Minerva’s little antics very quickly and attempted to befriend her. It was surprisingly easier than thought, because it seems that Minerva had already lost a little bit of her trust in the man who introduced her to the world.

And, by that point, the demon had told her everything: the man’s name was Alastair and he’s been stuck in the book for years. He’s been trying to find a way to escape after having played every single role in the book. And, the reason he was trapped in the first place was because he was a danger to the world and that he should never be allowed out.

Remembering the words regarding pigtails hiding the truth, Minerva tried pulling on the demon’s hair to see if she was lying. “You know, kind of dumb that you believe in the man, but I swear I’m telling the truth! He used to want to befriend me back in our older days!”

Escaping the book

Despite the man’s warnings, Minerva followed the demon around until they ended up in court for stealing. And, the Queen of Hearts looked even more furious than she normally did, and was ready to take Minerva to the guillotine without proper judging. But, before the servants could send the lost rose to the guillotine, the demon attacked the Queen of Hearts, revealing her true self: Alastair.

With Minerva not knowing how to fight much aside from stabbing with a dagger, the demon was the one who did most of the fighting. But, unfortunately, she couldn’t defeat Alastair alone and was defeated due to his control over Wonderland. But, a voice could be heard. “Hey! Heard the mask man’s giving you guys more trouble, eh? Let me just do a little trick!”

And, with a magic trick, the world went fully white before Minerva & the demon found themselves back at the Equinox Library in front of the librarian. Small, but very clever.

So…what now?

After the adventure, the demon finally presented herself as Demiurge, an ink demon that likes exploring books for fun. And, while doing that, she also investigates for abnormalities both in the real world and in the books. Minerva, really not knowing what else she could be doing aside from trying to figure out who she used to be, followed Demiurge around in her multiple adventures.

While in these, Minerva learned more about herself, and some of her memories resurfaced. On top of that, she learned to manipulate the plants around her and learned how to fight better with her dagger. She can never be useless to Demiurge ever again.

After a while, they wanted to check out the Alice in Wonderland book to see if things have changed…only for it to be gone. And so, they traveled around Aephiria to try to find it again.

Basic abilities

Minerva has enhanced senses, mainly eyesight and hearing, but also has an above-average sense of smell. She is also slightly faster than the average person. Being a vampire, she has retractable claws and fangs, but typically only uses them while in battle. She also has the ability to float and is rarely seen with her feet on the ground. Minerva is immune to the sun, but is extremely weak to stakes & silver because of how she died. She's also weak to crosses, but not as much.

Plant manipulation

Because of her association with roses, Minerva has the ability to manipulate the plants around her. She typically uses them to trap people or to stab people with their vines & thorns. Minerva is also able to easily make new plants appear, which is very helpful in deserts & other locations that don’t have as much vegetation. Her tears also have the ability to revive dead plants. Alternatively, her dagger has the ability to plant seeds into the people it stabs which can grow into vines that kill the person from the insane. But, that's something she doesn't do very often.

Alastair [ Enemy ]

One of her main guides in the world she found herself in. At the beginning of her adventure, Alastair was the only person Minerva trusted, but as she met more people, she had the feeling something was off about Alastair. Her instincts were right, as he was only using her as a way to escape the book. This resulted in them considering themselves as enemies and the fact Minerva managed to escape and not him brings her immense joy. Little does she know, she will have to deal with him again…
