Sairdin
Sairdin grew up in a small village, on the outskirts of the kingdom. At a young age, his father was conscripted into the military, and Sairdin took care of his mother by working at a smithy. During his time there, he learned of smithing and war, from his instructor Garl. After expressing interest, over time he was taught the way of combat, learning to utilize raw strength over finesse.
After he grew to be an older teen, Sairdin got the news that his father was missing - taken by some sort of mage, who left a symbol alike to ∅. Sairdin took this as a means to enter the military, in hopes to gain the info to help his father. Over time, Sairdin made friends of his unit, and grew to trust in them like no other, eventually becoming the leader of his squad.
During one fateful battle, everything seemed hopeless, as his kingdom's gates were being sieged by every foul creature they could imagine. His squad got caught out by a giant, and many of them were slain right there. In a rage, Sairdin managed to fell the beast, but as he did so, it caught the attention of the enemy forces. The commander of these forces - a robed mage with hidden features - approached Sairdin, casting magic that rocked the air, sending debris everywhere, cutting Sairdin's face with a deep gash.
As Sairdin became weakened, the mage approached him, outstretching a hand wreathed in magicks. One of Sairdin's remaining unit managed to knock the mage aside, but not before a single finger grazed Sairdin. In this moment, Sairdin immediately teleported, but not before noticing his friends' demise - and a familiar ∅ symbol on the mages' attire.
Waking up in an unfamiliar continent, Sairdin travels these foreign lands, fighting beast and man alike to make money, and find out anything he can about this mage, and how to return from where he came. Donning a mask to hide his identity, he would become known as 'The Masked Swordsman' throughout this country, willing to help those in need.
