Ancient Evoloons are the ancestors of the modern Evoloons. Some of their eggs have survived the pass of time and that's why we can find Ancient Evoloons to this day. Ancient Evoloons were and still are strongly attuned to a specific magic discipline.
Those are the types of Ancient Evoloons:
- Aquaticloon: Ancient attuned to the Aquatic discipline
- Avianloon: Ancient attuned to the Avian discipline
- Celestiloon: Ancient attuned to the Celestial discipline
- Cyberloon: Ancient attuned to the Cyber discipline
- Monsterloon: Ancient attuned to the Monster discipline
- Primoloon: Also called Primal Evoloon. Ancient attuned to the Basic discipline
- Terraloon: Ancient attuned to the Terrestrial discipline
To make an Ancient Evoloon, you need an Ancient Egg from an event, from another member (trade or gift), from a Garan For Hire Ticket or from Merlot's Shop (via the The Town Square).

- Ancient Evoloons are born adult with some special features. They are bigger than normal Evoloons;
- Your Ancient must look like in the reference above. You can use the Evoloon Bases for your approval sheet;
- Fawn spots on Ancients are optional;
- For the Cyberloon, the eyebrows are optional;
- All the other creation rules of a normal Evoloon still apply (other white parts, eyes, round ears, coloring, markings);
- To change the look of a feature of your Ancient, you will need to earn the upgrade first. For example, if you want another aquatic tail for your aquatic Ancient, you will need to earn the fish tail upgrade first;
- You must link the treasury approval comment in the description of the approval sheet (egg hatching or voucher redeeming). If you got your egg from an event before the summer event 2017, then you don't need a treasury approval, but you need to link the event art in the description of your approval sheet instead;
- Ancient Evoloons must be submitted in this DeviantArt folder for approval: Approved Ancients.
If you own an Ancient Evoloon, for upgrades from the discipline/category associated with the Ancient (Aquatic, Avian, etc):
- You don't have to unlock the category to claim that category's upgrades for your all Evoloons;
- You get a 50% discount on upgrade commissions from the mods;
- You only have to do 50% of the work which is needed for an upgrade not obtained with quest points;
- The quests you do reward twice as much quest points if you use these points for upgrades from that category.
Example of quest points earned if you have an Aquatic Ancient:
- A trivial quest grants 2 quest points if you make it to get an aquatic upgrade, but grants 1 quest point for non-aquatic upgrades;
- A common quest grants 4 quest points for aquatic upgrades, but 2 quest points for non-aquatic upgrades;
- And so on...
If your Evoloon is heartbonded to an Ancient Evoloon, they get the Ancient's bonuses and advantages (relevant if the Ancient Evoloon belongs to a friend).
Aquaticloon (Aquatic Ancient)
- Automatically unlocks Aquatic upgrades for all of your Evoloons;
- Halves the amount of work needed for all Aquatic upgrades not obtained with quests. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- Doubles the quest points earned for unlocking an Aquatic upgrade. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- You get a 50% discount on Aquatic upgrades when commissioning a mod or buying their YCHs.
Avianloon (Avian Ancient)
- Automatically unlocks Avian upgrades for all of your Evoloons;
- Halves the amount of work needed for all Avian upgrades not obtained with quests. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- Doubles the quest points earned for unlocking an Avian upgrade. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- You get a 50% discount on Avian upgrades when commissioning a mod or buying their YCHs.
Celestiloon (Celestial Ancient)
- Automatically unlocks Celestial upgrades for all of your Evoloons;
- Halves the amount of work needed for all Celestial upgrades not obtained with quests. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- Doubles the quest points earned for unlocking an Celestial upgrade. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- You get a 50% discount on Celestial upgrades when commissioning a mod or buying their YCHs.
Cyberloon (Cyber Ancient)
- Automatically unlocks Cyber upgrades for all of your Evoloons;
- Halves the amount of work needed for all Cyber upgrades not obtained with quests. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- Doubles the quest points earned for unlocking an Cyber upgrade. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- You get a 50% discount on Cyber upgrades when commissioning a mod or buying their YCHs.
Monsterloon (Monster Ancient)
- Automatically unlocks Monster upgrades for all of your Evoloons;
- Halves the amount of work needed for all Monster upgrades not obtained with quests. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- Doubles the quest points earned for unlocking an Monster upgrade. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- You get a 50% discount on Monster upgrades when commissioning a mod or buying their YCHs.
Primoloon/Primal Evoloon (Basic Ancient)
- Halves the amount of work needed for all Basic upgrades not obtained with quests. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- Doubles the quest points earned for unlocking an Basic upgrade. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- You get a 50% discount on Basic upgrades when commissioning a mod or buying their YCHs.
Terraloon (Terrestrial Ancient)
- Halves the amount of work needed for all Terrestrial upgrades not obtained with quests. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- Doubles the quest points earned for unlocking an Terrestrial upgrade. Affects all of your Evoloons;
- You get a 50% discount on Terrestrial upgrades when commissioning a mod or buying their YCHs.
Ancient Evoloons can only pass down their original colors. They cannot pass down their anatomic features or their bonuses. See the Breeding Guide for more details.
If you trade your Ancient, you cannot use their advantages anymore, but you Evoloons won't lose the upgrades they've gained from their bonuses. The upgrade discipline/category related to the Ancient won't be unlocked anymore.
The Ancient will be heartbroken and won't be able to get new upgrades until the new owner mend their heart. The new owner will be able to use the Ancient bonuses even if the Ancient's heart is broken. You can find the general trading rules in the Trading Rules journal.
- If your Evoloon is heartbonded to an Ancient Evoloon, they get the Ancient's bonuses and advantages (relevant if the Ancient Evoloon belongs to a friend);
- If the Evoloon heartbonded to the Ancient has racial bonuses, they are shared with the Ancient as well;
- The heartbonding partners share their love and gift magic;
- The heartbonding partners can do quests and trials together. If you draw them both together in a quest or in a trial, both with get the rewards.
When a heartbond is broken, both Evoloons have their heart broken, meaning they cannot gain new upgrades until they have their heart healed. The Ancient advantages will still be active for all Evoloons belonging to the Ancient's owner.
If your Evoloon is not an Ancient, and their heartbonded partner is an Ancient but belongs to a friend, your Evoloon will lose all Ancient advantages but won't lose the upgrades or quest points gained when the advantages were active. If the Ancient's magic discipline / upgrade category was unlocked because of the Ancient, this category is locked again for your Evoloon.
To design your Ancient, you can use the official Evoloon bases. You have to credit the base to Evoloons in the description of your approval sheet.
Ancient Evoloons could be earned in the Summer 2016 Lost Treasure Event. The Evoloons who've entered found mystical eggs. They took care of these eggs and soon an Ancient of the artist's choice hatched.
After the Ancient hatched and got fed by their caretakers, they showed their thankfulness by blessing one of the existing Evoloons with an upgrade of the artist's choice. The upgrade had to feature this symbol:

The Primal Evoloon has been introduced in the Winter Event 2019 - The Great Winter Gathering. A pack of northern evoloons brought some frozen eggs which hatched into Primoloons.
