To almost anyone who does not know Jonah, he seems to be cold and emotionless, due to his silent, thoughtful nature, and the constant look of mild irritation on his stony face. His one coal black eye takes in everything around him carefully, and flickers busily with prolonged, articulate observations he rarely voices. He does not believe in going out of his way to be kind to people who have not yet proven they deserve it, and his sullenness makes him hard to approach. In a rather alarming fashion, it appears as though his troubled past is written plainly on his warm brown skin, in the form of mysterious burns marking his left arm, and forming a swirling nexus above his heart. However, those who are close to him know there is far more to Jonah than speculation can provide.

Jonah is compassionate, generous, resourceful, intelligent, quick witted, and adaptive. He also cares immensely about children, and will protect them at whatever cost, and is an amazing mentor and surprisingly good role model. Throughout his life, Jonah has gone out of his way to provide for and look after those who are vulnerable or on their own. He has a highly protective, nurturing drive - hence encouraging Ivy and Michael to move in with him as soon as possible. To Jonah, the people he sees as friends are family. Jonah is analytically minded, exceptionally good at math and problem solving. He did not go to college due to family and financial issues, but he was quickly employed and climbed the hierarchy of business with ease. 

Jonah smokes, though he never does it inside, or around children, pregnant people, or those who it isn’t safe to do so. If asked, he will almost always put out his cigarette. Jonah has smoked since he was young, a behavior he picked up from his negligent parents, and is one of the many reasons he resents his family, but he is trying to quit. He has not had contact with his family for a matter of time, but seems perfectly happy with his new family.
